I am very far-sighted and can't read my computer or gauges very well. I put one magnifier on my left lens and could read my gauge because I could get it far enough away, but still not the computer (my arm is too short - LOL). I anticipated this and used the second one on the outside of the mask to double the magnification. That seems to work but I haven't dove with this configuration yet. I also found it easy to remove and re-apply the initial try. All it takes is a long soak in very hot water. In short, they are easy to apply and also easy ro remove iand reapply. They do the job well if you get the correct magnification.

I bought this product twice. The first time I bought it, the lens fell out all the time, that is, until they got totally lost at sea. This happened even though I followed the directions EXACTLY each and every time. IMHO, it is totally insane to use a water soluble glue to attach a lens to a mask used for diving. A diver's mask is always getting soaked in water either before or/and after the dive. Then you usually rinse the salt out of the mask afterwards. The glue simply disintegrates and you need to re-glue them, that is unless they got lost in the sea. When I contacted the manufacturer about this problem, they basically claimed that I probably didn't do it right. Never mind the fact that there are MANY MANY other divers that had/have the same complaint about this product (just look through the internet and diving forums), and the fact that using a water soluble glue for a diving mask is...well ...ridiculous, but oh well.
Never the less, the lens themselves were fine, which is why after I lost the pair of lens shortly after purchasing them, I ordered another pair and glued them in place with a clear alcohol base glue. Since doing this, I have just used my mask a few times - but so far so good. Should I ever want to relocate the lenses, I just need to soak them in alcohol for a bit, and out they come.

Comments about Aqua Optics Dive Mask Magnifiers (1 Pair):

I was expecting much better results in my visual acuity but the product failed to fulfill my expectations. I don't think it was the fault of the product itself but of the whole process of vision and distortion under water. The only possible improvement I can think would help is if the lense was larger. the negative comments made by other reviewers about the lenses falling out did not happen to me.

Comments about Aqua Optics Dive Mask Magnifiers (1 Pair):

This item will not stay attached to the mask for more than the first dive. Salt water compromises the glue. This make the product useless. Also, this product is glass, so if you do not know it is lose and it falls out of the mask, it will break on your boat deck, or you will lose it.

Comments about Aqua Optics Dive Mask Magnifiers (1 Pair):

The product arrived in good condition. Unfortunately, both of my dive masks have curved lens. Given that the magnifier lens are made of glass, it cannot be bent to conform to the shape of the masks' lens. The fact that it was made of glass should have been the clue. The product may work if applied to a flat surface such as a single window dive mask. I will try the Optix 20/20 stick-on and return this product.

            Questions about this item:

Shopper  Are these the trident aqua optics brand? Oz
NICK M  Completely worthless. I tried several times to may them work. First of all, they don't fit inside of mask very well. They are round and not tear dropped, so they ride too high. The glue is messy and there were too many bubbles. I ended up getting lenses with dioptersin them from my dive shop.
Dean W  I am looking for the soft magnifiers the are held in place by suction Do you have this kind?
ALEX B  They are glued in place. And can be taken off and Reglued, If necessary.
Keith I  I do underwater pool repair and with age my eyes have started to fail me. I am looking for 1.5 maginification lenses that I can insert into the bottom of my Sherwood Mako mask. I still want to be able to look staight ahead through the mask lens only and have the magnification only when I look down. Will these magnifiers work for me and what is the magnification? My doctor said not to go over 1.75. Thanks, Keith
MICHAEL I  Keith, I tried 2.0 magnifiers which is what my bifocal glasses are and they were ok but not great. I'm not sure if I would drop it to 1.75 next time due to some magnification fom water to start with. I have Tusa Power View mask w/ deep drop down lens and I mounted magnifiers a half inch above lowest point of mask and was happy. Just dove with 3 divers from Tucson AZ. who had magnifiers professionaly installed but put them all in the bottom of the lens and all three complained they were to low but they have stayed in place. PLEASE NOTE my Trident Aqua Optics lens still would not stay in place for more than 2 dives even with their new glue. I am going to try and return them. They installed ok, no air bubbles but wouldn't stay put. first pair of dives in 50 deg. water and second dives in 84 deg same results. Good Luck, Mike
