I am looking for the soft magnifiers the are held in place by suction Do you have this kind?
No I don't. I ended up having other magnifiers made and permanently laminated inside my mask.
Magnifier works just like drugstore reading glasses and are clear and unobtrusive. Only problem is the glue holding the lens to the inside of the mask only lasts for 2 or 3 dives before they come loose. After 4 attempts to reglue I gave up and glued them to the outside where they work just fine! Who knew that following the instructions is not always the best plan.
These are glued on place. Work fine but you have to keep the mask as dry as you can when you are not diving. We had to reglue them once during our 6 day dive trip. Also I use 2.0 reading glasses and the 1.5 magnifiers are more than enough.
The "suction" type are Dive Optx brand, still on the market. These Aqua Optics use glue. Personally I have never had luck using the suction type. They always fell off. I have since used a company in San Diego called Prescription Dive Masks who permenently bond reading lenses. It is not cheap at about $100 but they are bomb proof. If you have a mask that you will keep a while and you want dependable readers it is well worth it.
Yes. They are stuck in with liquid soap and are available in several diopter powers.
If soaked in water too long they have to be reglued and dried for about 24 hr.
The kind I got we're rigid and are meant to glued in. They generally worked well. However, the glue washed out at some point and they moved around some on one dive. I glued them back in and it was fine. Great to be able to see my computer well.
They are glued in place. And can be taken off and Reglued, If necessary.
