About H2YO Underwater Noisemaker

The problem you've just seen a great white. You're out of air. Or perhaps you discovered a gold brick in the sand. How do you get your buddy's attention, or help from others?

The solution give Reef Net's new "H2YO" a shake to emit a loud and distinctive rattle that can be heard at great distances underwater. To make sure you sound unique, H2YO is offered with two sounds:

Rattle - several balls inside Click Here for sound demo

Clank - one large ball inside Click Here for sound demo

The benefits there are many reasons to use an H2YO instead of alternative signaling devices:
- It can't be forgotten on shore/boat like a tank banger since it stays on your BC
- Both sound patterns are unique and easily identifiable. Neither sounds like a tank banger...the days of wondering "who's banging?!" are over
- It doesn't require an air supply like many other noisemakers
- It doubles as a gear identifier (different colors for different people)
- It's virtually indestructible.

The H2YO Underwater Noisemaker is commonly used for All Diving Applications, Cold Water, Extreme Depths, Professional, Recreation, Warm Water and more. I have been using one for over two years.

Pros: best feature to me is that you can modulate how loud and how long to use it, when your buddy hears it you stop, you don't have to rattle it loud enough for everybody to hear unlike the duck.

uses no air and allows the inflator hose to fit in its clips the way it should which cannot be done with the duck between the inflator hose and its connection

it helps at a glance to tell your BC's apart since mine and my son's are the same model

I have it attached by the split ring it came with (never any rust) to my right shoulder D ring and it helps me find the dump valve easier

I like the way it clanks one time when I do a back flip

no maintenance and should last forever

Con: a little pricey, but well worth it.

Although well constructed, this unit is not effective in the water. it simply does not generate enough noise to attract any attention...even from your buddy a few feet away. the keychain ring that is supplied rusts immediatly in saly water and should be replaced by something else if you intend to still use the device.

This is a very well made product, I got the rattler, it is rock solid, small, and gets your dive buddy attention very quick without to much effort.

This device is great for getting the attention of your partner or dive master. I no longer have to reach around and find something to bang on my tank. The sound is distinct enough, that partners know the noise is deliberate. Very effective product.

My wife and I each bought one of the multi-ball rattles on a Bonaire trip. I never could hear hers and now she can't hear mine. I doesn't seem like anyone else hears them either. We finally tossed them. The single ball clanker might be better.

Comments about Aqua H2YO Underwater Noisemaker:

My wife and I were given tank bangers when we first started. Useless. We bought two H2Yo's for ouselves. Have since bought 3 more for family members. Works as advertised, at least for users without hoods. Loud enough to alert a buddy diving within expected buddy distance. One or two shakes are usually sufficient. Use should not be overdone, even though the sound is not obnoxious like some noisemakers. Discrete use is the user's responsibility.

                Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
JAMES F  Kept losing my tank banger and allows me to control how loud I need to be.
ROBERT M  Which did customers buy the clank or rattle?
KIRSTIN B  I bought a rattle for me and a clank for my husband. Both were readily audible and our friends could tell which one of us was signaling.
George E  I'm pretty new to diving and just building up my kit. A noisemaker seems very useful, but I've never been given one as part of a rental gear set. What do you think: should this be part of my standard gear any time I dive? Many thanks for the advice.
REBECCA D  Honestly, George, as an advanced open water diver with nearly 150 dives, I would recommend that you not get one until you're more experienced. For one thing, it's best that you not get distracted while you're still getting the feel of diving (for this reason I would recommend that, as a new diver, you not carry a camera, either). You need to be focused on your breathing, your gauges, and how you're interacting with the environment around you (ie, not running into coral heads or stirring up sediment). A second reason I would suggest waiting is that you need to be sticking close to your buddy - and hopefully your buddy will be aware enough of you that you wouldn't need to use a noisemaker to get his/her attention (and vice versa). This will change a little when you're more experienced - I do, afterall, own one of these noisemakers, and use it to get my buddy/husband's attention every now and then, but we are both pretty advanced and don't stick as closely together as we did when I was new. Also, if overused, these things can really disrupt a dive for other people, especially is the user is shaking the dang thing every two minutes or so. It can be super annoying. And some divemasters use these to get the attention of the dive group - yours would just confuse things. So there is my two-cents worth. Best wishes.
