This analyzer does a great job, if you get everything right. First, gas flow must be dialed in at a very soft hiss. If you have smooth tank valves, you're in business. Otherwise, getting an accurate reading is nearly impossible. I'll keep searching for the ones I see in use in the Asian Pacific, which attach via a yoke and hose and appear to give much more consistently accurate readings. I'll recommend it, but with reservations.

Comments about Analox O2EII Nitrox Analyzer:

I haven't used the one I bought, yet. I've used this model on many dive trips. I bought my own for those cases where it is difficult or inconvenient to wait to use the one analyzer on board or at the resort.

Here's my point: in a couple thousand dives, I've been given unfilled tanks a half dozen times, had mixes off by more than 2% of stated and several other similar issues. Based on that admittedly limited sample, your odds on any one dive or even dive trip are pretty good. Is that good enough?

The ONLY times I've every had a problem is when I, myself, failed to double check. 'nough said.

I've borrowed this specific analyzer frequently from instructors, DM and buddies. Upcoming Bonaire trip will be all nitrox dives so I thought its about time I invested in my own.

Notthing really earth-shattering to say about this product other than it works and works well. Solid construction, super easy to use, lightweight, and I've found it to be very accurate as well.

I'm a Gas Blender (Inst), so I play with quite a few different analyzers and like to compare them as well...the accuracy and ease of use of this particular one gets two thumbs up from me!

              • Poor Instructions

              Best Uses

Comments about Analox O2EII Nitrox Analyzer:

I had used this same analyzer in Cozumel where the dive operator provides on the boat. But going to a new destination and using an unknown operator, it was comforting to know I had my own device. Although it ended up that the operator in Bonaire used this same model (see a pattern here...good enough for the pros so good enough for me), but because everyone on the boat had to share - I was able to use my own and was ready to dive without delays.

My only negative was this came with no instructions and I wasted about 15 minutes trying to confirm I just needed to remove the plug in the device and replace it with the rounded nozzle you press up against the tank's valve. In retrospect, this seems fairly logical but I'm always afraid of breaking something if I do it wrong.
