Good price and easy to install.

Hose protectors keep your hose rubber jacket from pulling loose from the crimped metal fitting. Once the hose jacket has separated and exposes the breaded hose inner liner you will start to have a hose leaks. Hose protectors that are not vented or do not have a ribbed interior surface retain water and promote corrosion of hose fittings and hose rot. Protect your hose from these problems with this vented hose protector. Use one on every hose attached to your first-stage regulator to prolong the life of all your life support fittings. Hose Protector is available in multiple colors and made from durable vinyl. The Hose Protector is vented for easy water drainage and rapped drying.

Shopper  I keep reading reviews that say these are hard to get on, even after soaking in hot water. Any tips to avoid frustration?

ANDREW S  The best is Hot Water and try some silicone spray or WD-40 make sure ends are covered so it dosent get in the hose.
MICHAEL S  Soak it in hot water, apply silicone to the end of the hose. It's really not that hard to put on. Also, these are purely cosmetic and unnecessary, especially if you use braided hoses.
MICHAEL W  I put them in hot water for a few minutues. I put a small amount of silicone grease on the hose fitting and the rest is elbow grease. They have to go on tight or they won't stay where you want them.
DERRICK C  The bottom line is they do work. They feel a little bit more like plastic than rubber and I did install them on my regulator at the time. If I were going to make the purchase again. I would spring for the little more expensive/ better kind!

RUSSELL B  I don't know. I have only installed on stock ScubaPro regulator and Genesis gauge hoses.
DEEP S  No. This hose protector is designed to fit on standard LP and HP hoses, not the newer style "flex" hoses like Miflex. New "slim" hoses would not fill the hose protector and prevent it from moving up and down the hose. However, the larger end of the protector is designed to "lock on" the end of the hose, and you may find that is enough to hold the hose in place. This wouldn't do much good as far as protection goes, but it might suffice if you're just looking for the "look" of the protectors. Bottom line: I would not recommend this product - or any hose protectors for that matter - on a Miflex-style "slim" hose.
