About Hangair Wetsuit Hanger Drying System

Do you dread slipping into a cold, wet, smelly wetsuit or dry suit especially on a frigid early-morning dive? Well, you're not alone. The Hangair Wetsuit/Dry Duit Dryer is designed specifically to eliminate wet-suit dread. Start dry and warm every dive. Hangair is used by recreational divers and dive professionals around the world. The problem of cold, wet, smelly wetsuits is universal, but the solution is Hangair. Hangair uses a high-powered fan pushing 120 cubic feet (3.4 cubic meters) of air per minute through your wetsuit or dry suit. Your suit will be dry in hours, not days - that's the ticket!

Plug the Hangair into regular AC power. It comes standard with a 15' (4.57 meter) cord, so no extension cord is necessary in most cases. Safe low voltage power is supplied to the hanger fan through the cord from a 100/240 VAC universal wall mounted adapter. The Hangair utilizes a 12V motor. This low-voltage system insures safe operation in wet environments. Because the fan operates off of 12 volts, you may also utilize a car adapter when a wall outlet is not available. The Hangair not only dries your suit faster it also slows the development of bad odors, and prolongs the life of your gear.

The hanger is made from 100% recycled plastic with a super strong nylon body and stainless steel hook that will hold up to 100lbs (45.36kg), so no matter how soaking wet your suit is it can handle the weight. Hanger measures (L x W x H) 21.5" x 7" x 14.2" (56.6cm x 17.8cm x 36cm), weighs 36oz (1,020.6g), is black in color, proudly made in the USA and is covered by a limited lifetime warranty.

Most Liked Positive Review

Should have bought one years ago.

I have a drysuit here in Alaska and gettin the boots dry was always a pain until I bought this product, it dried the lower portion of the drysuit in a few hours and the soaking wet boots were dry overnight. If you have a drysuit, make sure the boots/socks are off the ground for better air flow. And zip it up so the air vents out the arms, I found that works best.

Maybe??? I rarely use it but it's handy!

The one time I did take this on a dive boat, it was ok. It's better if the dive boats have a room where they put your wetsuit to dry, or if you can hang them on the side of the boat. This was handy once but it's so bulky, I don't have room to take it with me.

Dries my winter wetsuit even faster than advertised, energy efficient

By

from Hingham, MA, US

Dries my 6/4 winter wetsuit very quickly -- it's completely dry overnight. I also like that the fan is fairly energy efficient: I put a meter on it and it draws just 9-10 Watts of power. My only wish is that the hanging hook could fold down for storage. I don't have enough hanging space to leave it hanging up all the time, and would like to be able to fit it on a shelf when not in use.

Great Idea, and fast drying

By

from Clinton Township, MI, US

However, it is hard to pack! And you really have to practice on how to get the steel hanger out of the plastic part! It aggravates me every time. Although, it is the best hanger for Wet/Dry Suits! It replicates the shoulders and you don't have any creases in the shoulders of your Wet/Dry Suit afterward. Very fast drying, like they say, only about 1.5 hours for a wetsuit and a little longer for a Drysuit (2.5 hours) because there isn't a way for the air to get out with the attached boots of a Drysuit, so it has to go back up and out through the arms or neck. I am buying a 2nd one for my Drysuit because even using a wooden Business Suit hanger puts a little pressure point on the latex neck seal. This "HangAir" would alleviate that problem. However, you need to find a very high place to hang a Drysuit, it is long when you don't have it on! I had to find a Stud in the ceiling and put an eye bolt there just so the boots don't touch the floor.

Would be ideal if hanger arm fully retractable for travel.

great idea - awesome so far.

I have had the version of this hangar without the dryer for several years. I bought this one recently with the dryer. I tend to get dampness/moisture in my drysuit. I took it on my first trip last weekend and it was great. Everyday I was able to get into a bone dry suit. No idea how robust the motor is...but no problems so far.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Frank M  gotta get this the only dryer that really works.
PAUL B  the first one did not work. had to send it back, but they sent me a new one no questions asked.it works well and i hope it holds up.
Val P  for quick drying my suit. works good but really not necessary.
PATRICK N  These hangers are kind of a pain to travel with. That said, I choose to travel with them everywhere I dive. While others are putting on dank, wet suits in the cool mornings, my wife and I are dry (and if she's happy...). Also great for the end of the trip drying out.
TRAVIS K  Great for drying a suit out overnight. It is HUGE but works great. My drysuit stays on it (turned off) for long term storage.
Mike M  does this come with the extra hooks on the under side of the hanger?
ROBERTS T  No it's just a grate covering the fan
Rick S  there are no under side hooks
Paul B  No. Mine did not
mike h  No it does not...essentially you put your suit around the hanger, it sucks air from the top vent and pushes it out from below...and out through the sleeves and legs.
Mike E  mine didn't
K R J  I watched a online video on this hanger and the fan sounded pretty loud. Anyone with experience using this is a small hotel room or a liveabord?
ELIZABETH W  yes it is pretty loud and it actually take a whole day to dry. Sorry to said now the hanger is in the pile of no good stuff.
ROBERT M  They do make noise because it has a motor but if you think of it more as "white noise" it's not bad at all.
LANI M  It doesn't seem too loud to us. FYI: If you use it with your wetsuit inside out, the part that touches your skin will be pretty dry the next morning. If you don't use it with your suit inside out, it won't help much. I don't mind the sound.
JAMES F  I've used it in a hotel room and you're correct - it's pretty loud - but I didn't lose any sleep over it. On the larger plus side, it's about the most effective drying method I've used.
