Always carry a spare

By

from Port Orford, OR, US

Just a spare so far the original is holding up well after 2 years and 45 plus outings. So Far nothing larger than a 50 inch ling cod but held well. The original is a bit deformed but still strong. On second thought might be worth putting this one on so I don't have a failure and loose a spear.

Am buying 2 more

By

Used this coiled shock line with good success in fresh water lakes on carp and drum up to 40 pounds. Much faster reloads and is plenty strong. Am buying more to install on my friends guns.

Handy retrofit for an old gun

By

I've been using an old spear gun and the normal line holder has worn out. This coiled line is very convenient for a retrofit and I've used it to spear grouper twice. There is some tension in the coil, so I think the shot is just a little slower, but it worked fine for me.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
JEFF M  saves time on shooting fish
Shopper  how long is it fully extended?
MARK H  About 6' when stretched out.
FRED M  IT WOULD VARY, DEPENDING ON THE POWER OF THE ACTUAL SPEARGUN BEING USED. FOR MORE POWERFUL 3-BAND GUNS, IT WILL EXTEND TO ITS RATED CAPACITY,
STEVEN H  It will depend on your spear gun and how powerful it is. I have stopped using the coils and have gone to the "Ocean Rhino" system which has hardly any effect on slowing the spear. Google it and check it out.
RICHARD R  I can't tell How long it actually extends to, but I Can tell you this is a great product as I bought the longest one they had so I could use on my AB BILLER speargun. This thing is awesome Durable. Makes loading much faster and easier.. It does have very good exttension Range. Go for it you will be very happy with it.
Shopper  How is it attached to the spear shaft?
KEVIN P  It has a key ring on each end. I removed these and used heavy mono and crimps after having one straightened out on a big cobia
STEVE L  There is a slide ring attached to the spear with a stainless steel ring
BRUCE C  One end of spring coil shock line is attach to the speargun the other end has a small ring or washer which will slid over the speargun shaft. This is so you can free shaft or just slid the ring over the shaft for larger fish. "Good Luck and Tightlines".
NAWFAL E  It attaches to the shaft-ring. The same way you would attach a regular line
JEFF M  I use a double snap swivels on each side
WILLIAM W  It has a split ring on it and then I use a large swivel to attach it to the gun and the shaft.
