Hi everyone, I have Jet Fins and was suggested to purchase spring straps. I saw these but how do I actually put them on? How and when should I take them off? Thanks for your help.
I have and use them on several pairs of Jetfins and Turtle Fins. Simply maneuver the ends of the clips into the holes in the fins, then squeeze th together using wide mouth pliers. That's it. They stay on. They're not made to be taken off and put on again and again. You won't regret using them. Much better than rubber straps.

Hi. I have a pair of Jet Fins and I put a pair of these spring straps on a couple of seasons ago. So far, I have no regrets and only good things to say about these straps. they are sturdy, hold the fins snug and super easy to get on & off - Exactly what you need from a fin strap!
As for "putting them on", I assume that you mean actually attaching them to the fin? If this is the question then the tricky part of the assembly process is actually removing the old straps. If I reclla correctly, the straps came with instructions, but basically, you have to remove the pins that hold the old straps to the fins (once you do this, your old straps are pretty much useless so no going back) - Be VERY careful not to damage the rubber of the fins when removing the old pins. Actually attaching the new straps is a breeze, you just align the metal ends over the holes that the old pins came out of and squeeze them snug with pliars.
As for taking them off, I assume you are asking about removing the straps from the fins and not asking about removing the fins from your feet ;) If that is your question, then the answer is that you don't take them off. They stay permenantly attached to your fins. Just remember to give them a rinse in fresh water after your dives and you should be all set for years of service. As Isaid, mine have done a couple of seasons and they look as good as the day I bought them - no sign of wear or rust at all.
The hardest part of putting them on is getting the old buckle off. You can cut it off with a hacksaw or small bolt cutters. I took mine off by squeezing the buckle with channel lock plyers until the buckle deforms and pops. Installing them is easy. Line up the new buckle with the holes on the fin and squeeze with channel locks until they are square and solid. They are now permanently on the fin. You will have to break them to remove them. I can't think of a reason to want to remove them unless you managed to break them and had to put on a new set. They are a huge improvement over rubber straps. You should love 'em.
You remove the original buckles and line up the pins on the spring straps with the holes that the original buckles mounted in and squeeze the pins into place with pliers.
Here are the steps:
1. Remove old strap buckles. You will need to use tools to cut them off.
2. Put the new straps on and squeeze them closed with pliers.
This is generally considered permanent and you leave them on forever.
You need a screw driver to get the stock straps off and a pair of pliers to put the new straps on. The wire clamp bends into the holes that the original straps came out of. Once you get them on there you won't want to take them off ever. They're great

to install the straps, remove the existing straps on your fins. It'll require a screwdriver to pry the two existing prongs off the existing pad. Once they are off, slide the new ones on and crimp them with a set of pliers so the new straps are secure to the fins.
You put them on by spreading the metal prong on each side with pliers - putting each of the prongs on the strap into the holes in your fins and crimping it snug. Once on you shouldn't need to remove them.
