I've tried about five different spring heel straps. These are absolutely the best ones.
Sizing Note

The sizing measurements for the Grip Tight version used on conventional rubber Jet fins are overall from installation pin to pin, not from barrel lug to barrel lug. Don all of your foor gear including fins, get the fins on as far as possible. Consider using soapy water. Measure between the installation points with a fabric tape. Buy a size 1-2 inches shorter so there will be some tension. Remember that fins will further seat as you dive deeper and your booties compress.
These unique EZ Stainless Steel Spring Fin Straps are guaranteed to make putting on and taking off your fins easier and include rubber "comfort grip" puller. The rubber comfort puller provides a cushion between the spring and divers heel and provides a large grip to aid in pulling fin straps on and off. The straps will fit old school" fins with rubber attachment knob molded into the fins such as Scuba Pro Jets, XS Scuba Power, XS Scuba Turtle and others (see SKU's: SCPFJ, XSSFP, XSSFTE). To install on fins simply insert the solid cable wire into the knob holes and squeeze" together with pliers.
Easy to use springs automatically compensates for different size feet and boots. Spring fin straps are depth compensating because they will compress to changes in the thickness of your boots. No need to adjust straps once you have descended to depth or once you ascend to the surface at the end of the dive. These corrosion resistant black fin straps come in multiple sizes. Below is a list of the actual fin strap sizes:

How big is the wire piece that attaches to the fin. The rubber piece on my fins is 1" inch wide. Will the wire ends of this spring strap fit into a 1" wide rubber piece?

jeff, sorry they were not adaptable to my 30 year old jet fins; had to return them.
i have found two solutions for replacements.
1) use rubber fin straps instead of the plastic which do not stretch. the rubber allows easy on/off
2)just returned from cancun, a dive master had two simple bungee cord attached to each fin ( in case one broke). i wish i had taken a photo. about 1/4 inch in diameter attached with dual zip ties on each)
was searching for these bungee when i saw your question.

Yes it will. I'm using them with XS Turtle fins.
LARRY S
I used them on a pair of Scubapro Jetfins. The rubber piece on it is 1" wide also, so yes, it'll fit. You just insert one end and use a pair of pliers to clamp the other end into place if I remember right.

On this extra large spring fin strap what is the length of the spring?
Shanon M
I am not a hundred percent sure of the length but to give you some perspective I have a size 10 dry boot shoe. I use 2xl turtle fins to have the larger foot pocket and I used a small spring strap and everything held snug and comfortable. Hope that helps.

12 inches at rest; about 20 inches fully extended.

My wife wears a size 8 shoe and wears dive boots. What size would fit? Fins are Scubapro jet, size large.
ANDY M
My wife wears size 7 or 8 and we ordered large for her. Hope this helps.

I wear dive boots size 7 rigid sole(Mares Trilastic 5mm Dive Boots) and size L scubapro jet fin; If only part of your heel is outside the fin, this strap (size S) wouldn't help you.
if the third part of your feet is outside maybe size S would help you

Don't know. However, I took some butchers twine and with my boots and fins on I tied one end of the twine to the point where the end of the strap attaches to the fin. Pulled the twine around the back of the boot to the other attachment point. Then measured the length of the twine and ordered the strap that fit that length.
Hope this helps.

Read somewhere that these will work with Mares Avanti Quattro fins with plastic knobs. It says "To Install on Fins simply Insert the Solid Cable Wire into the Knob Holes and Squeeze together with Pliers" The knobs do not have holes in them. Still OK?
WILLIAM MCGOWAN I
No. These straps are for fins with strap holes e.g. Scuba Pro Jet Fins.
