Does the battery come with the o ring?
Steve S
No, this is the battery only.
WILLIAM T
Yes. And lubricant.
VOLKER K
No, this does not come with an o- ring. Mine was still in good shape, I removed it from the battery compartment, cleaned it and re-greased it.
ANDREW S
No, the battery didn't come with a new o-ring. In my case, my computer didn't show a full charge on the battery when I received it. I didn't figure it was worth returning, but I was a little disappointed in what I received. I did end up using it on my dive trip and it functioned just fine.
DALE B
No it does not
PATRICIA F
No the battery does come with a new o-ring.

Is it possible the computer ScubaPro Galileo Luna use a simple battery purchased from an electronics store?
MATT F
The battery is not a standard type that you'll find just anywhere. It is a 3 volt about the diameter of a AAA battery and about 1/3 longer. It is available at places that specialize in batteries like batteries plus. Radio Shack lists it but the don't carry it in stores. It's a special order item. The one sold here also comes with a new o-ring seal, not a big ticket item but worth replacing to keep your computer from flooding. If you needed one today it may be worth trying to find a place locally that sells them but you'll pay just about the same price as buying it here.
MIYUKI S
As long as the battery is a 3 Volt CR12600SE Lithium Battery then it is fine.
DAVID D
There is nothing special about this battery. If you can find a cr12600se (3v) at a local store then use it. If not might have to order one online.
CARLOS G
I believe so, as long as it is the same power, voltage and size.
Check the specifictions from the original batery.
WILLIAM T
That's a hit or miss situation. A friend of mine was able to get a better for his SOL at Radio Shack in Fort Myers. I, however, was unable to get one for my SOL at a Radio Shack in Tampa. My suggestion is that you purchase one through Leisure Pro. They have strong batteries and my last two lasted about 2.5 years of hard diving.

what is the shelf life of the battery un used?
LAM N
This battery should have about 10 yrs of shelf life
KARIN K
i have it for 4 y / the ilfe is 5-7 y
WILLIAM T
about one year.

From Wikipedia - The most common consumer grade battery, about 80% of the lithium battery market. Uses inexpensive materials. Suitable for low-drain, long-life, low-cost applications. High energy density per both mass and volume. Can deliver high pulse currents. Wide temperature range. With discharge the internal impedance rises and the terminal voltage decreases. Maximum temperature limited to about 60 °C. High self-discharge at high temperatures.
I would expect a decent shelf life since I have used the original battery in my Sol for about 3 years and it is still functioning. However, I do see some signs that the battery is loosing some of its power. Hence, about a year ago I bought a back up just in case.
EDMOND J
Well, my experience is with one battery. I put it in my computer last Summer and it was about 2 years old then. It showed up as full on the computer at that time so I would think at least 3 years. (It is about 1/5 used now). I really should get another one just to have one in case I need it.
