About Apollo Bio-Fin Pro Fins

Apollo was the first manufacturer to recognize the potential of Split-Fin Technology. Every major dive company now offers some form of Split-Fin. In a sea of imitators Apollo's Bio-Fin Series has continually taken top honors. Every model Bio-Fin submitted to Scuba Diving Magazine (SDM) for annual review has rated "Testers' Choice". With eight consecutive wins, Apollo's Bio-Fin Series is clearly the fin to beat.

The Apollo Bio-Fin standards of 100% Rubber and 20 degree Angle help this Fin provide Excellent Performance, Low Strain, and Reduced Air Consumption. Apollo's Split Fin design is consistently rated as the Fasted Fin in the Water providing Excellent Maneuverability and Position Control.

Saves a lot of air

Better than Scubapro Twinjets as they're narrower and faster. These save me 10 minutes bottom time compared to conventional fins. You never feel the fins on your feet. I wear a 13 boot, and the fin accepts both my 3mm and my large soled 5mm with ease. Go with the XL if you wear 13's. I've had mine for years and they are my #1 fin. This site's price is very good. They're worth every penny. Just remember to refrain from over-kicking the fin.

Great fins

Quick delivery

Great Product, would purchase again.

Great service, received product fast

I got these because I wear size 5 in women and it's pretty hard to find fitting footwear. The Bio-fins were the only one I've seen to accommodate size 5 feet. Once I got these underwater, I'm so happy with this purchase! With the right kicking style, these fins will let you go pretty fast without too much effort. They are pretty heavy because it's 100% rubber, but well worth it.

Apollo Bio-Fin Pro FIns are excellent

Great and efficient fins. I've used them since they came out. Bought a new set of booties for my wife, and found her XS biofins were now too narrow to slide the boot in. So we tried several combinations and finally found the Tusa hard sole booties would fit the S biofins well. But the spring band on the Size Small comes right over the pocket, which was too small, so she has the regular rubber strap, which works perfectly. Many thanks to Leisure Pro for their patience and help and superb exchange policy. None better in the business!

Some Sizing Information Here

I am leaving this to help others with sizing. I did a fair bit of searching on line for sizing help and found little to work with, so I will document my experience here. It all went well thanks to Leasure Pro. I wear a mens Adidas Classic (Rom, Gazelle) Size 9.5(US) Size 9(UK) Size 43.5(FR) Size 275(JP) and that is a Snug/Tight fit. My foot is 11 inches long, and 4.25 inches wide and 3 inch instep (low arch) I use Atomic Split Fin size 9-10 (42-43) (full foot model) and very old pair of ScubaPro Jet Fins Size 9-13 (43-48) (using 3mm Neo Sock) which are quite tight in width compared to the Apollos. As I wanted to use a boot with a sole (Bare 3mm Tropic Boot Size 9) I figured from what I read online to order an Apollo size L (9-11) but I was wrong! It was far too wide and my foot was pushing through the toe opening. So LP sent me the Size M (8-9) and that fits like a charm. My heel protrudes 2.25" out the back using the Bare Boots, 1.75" using light boots, and I could 'just' use them with no boot at all. There is still enough width for a wider boot or higher instep. I believe the L (9-11) should really be 10+ to 12, so if you are 'in between sizes be sure to leave enough time to adjust your fit before leaving on a trip! My only regret now is that I didn't order the Spring Straps. They feel like great fins and thanks again LP for your patience and help! BTW, My wife ordered Size Small and she wears size 8 shoe, they seem right, and we will provide detail soon. I could happily wear these with no boot at all.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Susan B  These fins are the best fins I have ever used! They are very flexible and lightweight, at the same time of producing great power. Due to the soft flexibility and split fin, it allows you to kick at many different angles to get the desired result. I lost one fin on a 120 ft wreck dive and have been trying to locate them to replace. I am soooo excited to have found them! Let's go diving!
JENNY H  I adore these fins!! I have used xPert Zooms, Imprex and Vectors...I like the Imprex by Tusa, for heavy current, but, I'm getting where I just don't dive in any big currents; getting too old for that nonsense(60). The Zooms really hurt my ankles. I don't have any problem in mild-medium currents with the Bio Fins...I can maneuver upside down without moving my hands in these...and NEVER get sore ankles (with hard sole booties)!
JOANNE L  Actually bought these not to be cute and girly- although that's fine too but because I wanted my boys, who were young, to know where I was at all times underwater. They aren't great for speed though.
DEVIN S  Switching from hard fins to these was like night and day - no joke. The agility with these fins is unbelievable - you really feel like a fish in the water. Deceptively fast - requires a change in your kick style but after adjusting, you can outpace hard fins with less effort. They weigh like boat anchors on land, but absolutely worth the extra weight and cost.
JAMES J  I go for very light equipment, usually. These fins are heavy but they are worth the extra weight. VERY ergonomic. Speed when you need it and control when you don't.
TOM M  Great fins came highly rated. Short too, easy to fit in dive bag
AIJI G  Awesome fins!! Easy to use and very comfortable
Shopper  if i'm a woman who is 8-8.5 shoe size, which size should I pick for these fins? I've heard they're really good fins, some of the best ever. is that true? thanks!!!
Steve S  These are a great split fin! Very little leg fatigue with these! You will want the size Medium. If for some reason you don't like the fit, please call Customer Service at 800.637.6880 and ask to exchange it using the PFF Guarantee.
JENNY H  Yes!! I absolutely LOVE these fins. I have Tusa Imprex and Expert Zooms but I always choose these. I wear the same exact size as you, and I use a size Small, with a hard sole Mares boot. Have fun with them!!
JOHN S  I purchased three pairs of Bio-Fins from Leisure Pro (me plus my two certified teenagers). Used the LeisurePro sizing chart and all three pairs fit perfectly. If you wear hard sole dive boots, you may want to add 1 to your show size. LP is great if you need to exchange for different size so there is no risk. And yes, they are great fins.
J H  We purchased these for our trip to Hawaii. We did a few dives in them as well as hours of snorkeling. In addition, we have used them for local swimming and have to say they are amazing! I forget the other brand we own right now but they were expensive and top of the line a few years ago but the ease of movement through the water without leg fatigue has been wonderful.
KAREN F  My shoe size is 8.5 as well. I bought a size Small in 2010 and am still enjoying the Apollo Bio Fins since! Comfortable, very durable, very easy to unclip in or out of water. The maneuverability is fantastic. Can guide even the slightest moves as gently as a fish. I've had 4 PRS over 30 years, these are without a doubt my favorite!
lorin b  Can you use these bare foot or do you have to use booties?
PETER D  These fins are made of very soft rubber and I have used them barefoot, with booties, and with thick soled watershoes on the beach entries of Bonaire. Just make sure you buy on the small side if you want to use them barefoot. They are great fins, they allow you to move very easily without any muscle fatigue, and you never experience leg cramps.
JENNY H  Booties a must. I like a hard sole...lots more leverage comfort and power. Mares has a great one. I LOVE these fins...my second pair! First ones got ripped off after a dive trip so I tried Xpert Zooms. No comparison! Have Tusa imprex & a pair of Oceanic Vectors...good but not like the Apollos. SO COMFORTABLE. NO cramping. Feel like part of my body.
Kasia W  These are meant to be used with booties or thick socks. The foot pocket is to wide to comfortably wear them barefoot. I recommend at least 3 mm boots or socks.
TIMOTHY H  These would be uncomfortable - and too big if you follow the size chart - without boots.
JENO P  Use booties. The blisters you'll get without booties will ruin your week! If you must use it, put on two pairs of thick socks.
VOLODIMIR K  I've always used them with booties and never barefoot. My assessment would be - it would be much more comfortable to use them with booties because of the snugger fit. Hope this helps.
BOB B  You really need to wear booties when using the Apllo fins. The fins dont have a full foot pocket like freedivng fins typically have so your foot will not be snug in the Apollo fin unless you wear a good "sole" bootie. For me it's not a choice since 95% of my diving is in the Northern Caifornia Pacific ocean where water temperatures are typically in the low 50°F range. I really like the fins and suspect that you will too.
