About Akona Collapsing Mesh Duffel Bag AKB611

Akona's new Collapsing Mesh Duffel features a padded end compartment the same size and shape as Akona's AKB607 Regulator Bag (see SKU: AKNBPR). The duffel easily holds a full set of gear while keeping your costly regulator and console well protected. Bag is made from durable 420-Nylon with nylon reinforced mesh, measures 12" x 14" x 29" (30.5 x 35.6 x 74 cm) and has 4,872 cubic inches (80 liters) of volume. Bag features #5 YKK Delrin zippers with brass sliders and has complete wrap around nylon webbing carry handles with Velcro closure.

Great thing about a mesh bag is that when you get to the wash tank on the dock after a day of diving you can submerge the entire bag in the tank and rinse you gear while still in the bag. The large mesh duffle zips into the end of the padded regulator bag creating a compact, easily stowed container. The collapsing feature also allows you to bring your travel gear bag when security is an issue and once you arrive at your diving destination you can transfer you gear to the mesh bag and use it instead of getting the travel bag wet. Bag comes with a 24 month limited warranty.

Comments about Akona Collapsing Mesh Duffel Bag AKB611:

When I first saw this product I thought it was a great concept and wanted to give it a try. The only concern I had was maybe it being too small for all the equipment. First of all, the bag is very well made and beautiful. On one side I can protect the regulator and computer. Perfect size and very comfortable to carry with the top handle. When you open the duffle side, I was able to fit everything I needed. That included a 3mm full wet suit, a pair of pretty large Hollis F1 fins, boots two masks in their hard plastic containers a snorkel and a bcd (Hollis HD-100). As for durability I can't say much yet, since I don't have it for such a long time. Although well made the duffle bag is a little on the thin side. When collapsed it provides an extra cushion to the back side of the regulator, but it also makes the bag a little bigger as just a regulator bag. Because it is very soft, it becomes a little harder to add your first gear, since it keeps on collapsing, but after the fins at in it becomes a little easier to stuff things in. The straps go around the bottom of the bag which gives more security when carrying.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

    Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
NOFAL P  Great compact way to carry my reg on-board the aircraft with me and it expands into a larger duffle. Very happy with my purchase.
joel h  Will this hold a mask, fins, snorkel, BC and wetsuit?
    Monica s  Yes.
Shopper  What is the length of available space in the unfolded duffel bag not counting the regulator pocket? Also, how much gear can you fit in it? And last, would it be durable enough to carry 2 sets of fins with a wet suit & additional personal gear?
JAY C  Length is adequate for the fins and wetsuit. It will accommodate some other personal gear - like a change of clothes and a towel, even a BCD. Keep in mind that the expanding part ofthe bag is made up of mesh, so I wouldn't rely on it for a long trip, but it is great for shuttling stuff from the car to a dive site.
