I have not travelled with the bag yet but it looks just like the picture online. I love the colors and all the extra straps to secure things. It held one set of diving equipment perfectly. So far I am very happy with it.

Comments about Akona Less Than 10 lbs (4.5 kg) Roller Bag (AKB184):

I will hold judgement until my next trip. The pin that holds the retractable handle fell out on my first trip. Caused the handle to arrive damaged after my flight. Contacted leisure pro and they replaced the bag. Very satisfied. The overall travel experience was excellent. The bag packed easily and all gear including BC and 3ml wetsuit with some clothes came in under 50lbs. I pack my regs and dive computer with my carry on. The reason I purchased this bag was because of the light weight. My old bulky suitcase was costing me to much in weight before anything was packed. Very happy to date with my purchase. I am a big fan of Akona gear.

Comments about Akona Less Than 10 lbs (4.5 kg) Roller Bag (AKB184):

I bought a pair of these less than a week before leaving for Mexico with my son when I discovered the zippers on 2 pieces of my regular luggage were broken. As usual, LeisurePro shipped them quickly and, living not too far from their warehouse, they arrived very quickly. I bought these more because they were in stock and somewhat reasonably priced than for any other reason, but after having used them to travel I am very pleased and plan to buy one for each other member of my family.

The bag is very light and fairly large, yet easy to maneuver through a crowded airport. It is not obvious in the photo, but the bag is slightly tapered, so the bottom is deeper than the top. I thought this was odd at first, but I found it made the bag very stable while wheeling it around.

While I did not pack my gauges or computer in it and I did not bring a wetsuit, the bag held all of my other dive equipment, including a large BC and some rather long split fins, along with bathing suits, other clothes and boat shoes so I believe it will hold all of the items the description says it will. The bag zippered easily and was easy to attach a luggage lock to, although the side pockets have single zippers and do not lock. While my regular luggage arrived on the carousel looking like a gorilla had mauled it (just like in the old TV commercials), the Akona bag arrived looking great. More importantly, all of the equipment was intact.

The only con is that the bag is essentially one large compartment with a couple of smaller side compartments. I prefer that as it allows me to organize things the way I want rather than following the dictates of some designer who decided where my equipment should be placed, but I would have liked a few more straps to secure larger items and keep them from shifting. However, if you like a bag with compartments for everything or that provides you with a predetermined organizational structure you will be disappointed.

All-in-all, a great bag for dive equipment or just general travel use.

      Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
Michael O  Needed an updated, lighter travel bag to replace our 10 year old Akona bags. Weight is great space is ok. Very roomy central compartment but pretty much everything needs to go into it. Side pockets are not long enough for fins and with the bag fully packed, getting things in and out of them is problematic. Overall, great bag for the money.
Ashley A  Does the bag also have straps to use as a backpack?
GARY D  No, it does not have back straps fro use as a backpack. The bag fit all my vital scuba gear, including my BCD. Very happy with the way it packed and keep my weight under 50lbs. I placed my Akona mesh bag in first and packed my gear. Upon arrival at my destination, i took my mesh bag and dive gear out and headed to the dive boat. Very satisfied. Gary
