About Aeris XR-1 Computer Console

The AERIS XR-1 is an ideal user-friendly diving console

Have you ever spent a dive staring at your computer instead of looking at everything in the water all because your computer is hard to read? The XR-1's enlarged digits, easy-to-read icons, and split screen take the guesswork out of reading your dive computer. Also, the XR-1 allows you to decide what information displays; now you can customize the display to include only the things you want to keep an eye on during your dives. Variable ascent rate indicator will keep you safe upon ascent and slow you down progressively as you head to the surface. Safety stop timer will give you the ability to include the all important 15' (5 meter) safety stop which is recommended by all instructional agencies. The XR-1 features a diver replaceable CR2450 battery. This can be a real trip-saver on board a live-aboard boat! Should you be in a tight spot between dives, the "hot-swap" feature (8 seconds) allows you to change batteries between dives while maintaining all calculations. Other features of the computer are a calendar and clock, 330' (100 meter) operating depth, variable ascent rate, push button or water activation, altitude adjustable, wait to fly time, 12 dive on-unit log capacity, pre-dive plan sequence, dive planner and much more.

Any diver will agree that an air supply is the most important part of scuba diving - right next to water, of course. The pressure gauge included in the Aeris XR-1 Computer Console won't let you down. It accurately reports your remaining air pressure, and the pressure gauge is easy to read due to its contemporary display. Pressure gauge is also equipped with a thermometer to monitor both water and air temperature. Pressure gauge has a luminescent dial for ease of reading in low light or night diving conditions. The computer and pressure gauge come with Aeris 30 day satisfaction guarantee and a 24 month limited warranty.
Due to MFG restrictions, this can be sold to the USA and Caribbean only.

You get what you pay. I bought this computer and ended up buying a better one. In my opinion, there are three functions that are important and are not included:
- Audible alarm
- Nitrox
- Computer connection

In addition, the computer cannot be turned off manually and you have to wait two hours before it turns off automatically, consuming more battery. It is also awfully big…

However, it is a good secondary computer or an entry level one.

Comments about Aeris XR-1 Computer Console:

This is my first dive computer purchase. I have tried other computers and found I don't really use all the bells and whistles.

This one has everything I need. Easy to read at 70 ft in a dark lake, even with my bad vision. Its also not hard to learn. There are free Ediver youtube videos that will have you up and running in 15 minutes or so.

A light would be nice though for night dives

battery change is terrible

Comments about Aeris XR-1 Computer Console:

Computer worked okay, was easy to understand. But when it came time to change the battery, it was terrible! And it used up batteries VERY fast. You need about 5 hands to do the battery change, and even then it isn't certain you have done it right. I am pretty mechanically adept (I am a gunsmith) but even though I was very careful each time, the 2nd battery change resulted in a flooded compartment. A call to the company was very unhelpful and unsatisfactory. I now use a Mares that is MUCH better on both the battery usage and change out procedure

Comments about Aeris XR-1 Computer Console:

We operate a term charter boat in the Virgin Islands that provides casual diving. I normally use a wrist mount computer but wanted one built into the diving console as a backup and in case I forget the wrist mount. I can not say enough about the value offered by this product so far. The console is well constructed, the depth guage is easy to read, and the computer has all of the basic information needed highly visible and easy to access.

I ordered the optional X1 compass Module by Aeris and installed it with no difficulty. As a Divemaster leading dives for our guest I am very pleased with its visibility & construction. I like the ease of use of the triple inline consoles but prefer the compact package that this set up offers.

All in All a SUPER VALUE!
