The other comments about this BC are way off. This BC is perfect for its purpose. It is a back inflate BC and its clearly stated as that. It only has a butt dump because its a back inflate BC which is normal. The butt dump is not the only way to release air as you can also use your power inflater hose, like all back inflates or wings. The weight pockets are positioned like all other weight pockets and if you dump the weights you wouldn't be putting them back in underwater. About the comment on floating face down that is just strange to think a jacket BC would always make you float to the surface heads up if you are unconscious. This back inflate BC works perfect for helping maintain good trim and has plenty of lift for holding you up out of the water during high surf ocean dives.

I had difficulty managing buoyancy. I kept rolling to my side in this BC. Suspect I had uneven air distrubution. I had difficulty with effective air dumping. After 6 dives, I rented a chest inflate and had immediate control and a better dive experience. Back inflate is not for everyone. I like the large pockets and light weight for travel.

Not the best for Women

Comments about Aeris EX 200 Back Inflation BCD with QLR Weight Pockets, Black:

This BCD is inexpensive and sturdy, but as a female diver I found the air dump valves a little difficult to manage. The lower right is hard for me to reach, and you really have to pull hard on the inflate hose to work the shoulder valve. It seems to be built well , but I would not recommend it for women 5'6" and smaller.

Comments about Aeris EX 200 Back Inflation BCD with QLR Weight Pockets, Black:

2 years and 75+ MN and Ocean dives later, still looks and works great. Comfortable, good enough storage, plenty of lift for use drysuit diving and distributes the weight well. Only gripe is the sizing. My measurements fell into the Medium sizing. Take it from me, go with the large. At 5'11" 180lbs. with a 32" waist and long torso, I have a hard time reaching back through the shoulder straps to get the BC on, even harder when using my drysuit. My brother has the large and is much eaiser to get on and off. Plenty of adjustment to get the large down to fit my "girlish" figure. Only modifcation I've made was changing the plastic D-Rings for brass for ocean diving. I will be buying a new BC that I will dedicate for drysuit diving. Definately would buy another one of these if I can find one. Either way, the one I have now will still be seeing plenty of use as my travel/back-up BC. This thing packs up and travels better than most of those stripped down, barebones "travel" BCs. Take care of it by washing it off after every dive and this will look just as good as mine. Too bad Aeris discontinued this model, This is a very underrated BC, the EX200 is a true winner for both beginner and professional diver alike.

Comments about Aeris EX 200 Back Inflation BCD with QLR Weight Pockets, Black:

Ive been diving 25 years with a jacket style bc. Ive heard the stories about face down on the surface ect...with the back inflate. This bc is great. I have no problems at all with horizontal or verticle positions at depth or on the surface. Back inflate is much better to use at depth than jacket style. The freedom of movement is very nice also. It is light weight and nice for travel. The quick release weights stay secured and are easy to release if needed. I will never switch back!!!

Comments about Aeris EX 200 Back Inflation BCD with QLR Weight Pockets, Black:

Got this BCD a couple of weeks ago and love it already. It is easy adjusted to your needs and the big side pockets carry anything they can hold (marker bouys, slates, etc). The weightsystem is easy to use and secure and in combination with the trimweight-pockets on the tankstrap make sure for perfect bouyancy.
To keep it short a great BCD for a amazing price!
