About Aeris CompuMask HUD (Heads Up Display) Hoseless Nitrox Dive Computer with Transmitter

The CompuMask is not just about having a computer in your mask it is about the many practical benefits provided by truly "Hands-Free" diving

The CompuMask contains a miniature liquid crystal display (LCD) panel, proprietary Digital Optic System, microprocessor, depth transducer, wireless cylinder pressure receiver, diver replaceable battery, and controlling software The miniature LCD allows you to keep your eyes focused on the dive while presenting critical dive data including: current depth, elapsed dive time, cylinder pressure, and dive time remaining The Digital Optic System provides a clear, highly magnified image of the LCD, which is viewable regardless of environmental conditions and may be seen clearly by the vast majority of people, regardless of vision

The CompuMask HUD PDC is a sophisticated Personal Dive Computer featuring AERIS' wireless air integration technology A transmitter threaded into the first stage high-pressure port continuously sends cylinder pressure data to the mask Frequencies are individually coded to allow multiple divers to swim side by side without interference with other units Because the transmitter and display module are independent and separately powered units, the mask may also be easily used as a standalone, non-air integrated dive computer

The CompuMask HUD provides accurate depth and time with an amazing 1-second sampling rate for subsequent PC download and analysis Dive Time is displayed in seconds and minutes Custom audible alarms include Elapsed Dive Time, Countdown Timer and (3) Independent Max Depth Alarms The CompuMask HUD is the first Free Diving Computer to calculate and track Nitrogen Tissue Loading, allowing you to switch between SCUBA divers and Free Dives on the same dive day

You're at 80' (24 4 meters) with 1300 psi (90 bars) remaining in your cylinder - how long before you need to begin an ascent to a shallower depth? Aeris patented Air Time Remaining feature calculates your current depth, breathing rate, cylinder pressure, ascent time, and decompression status to tell you exactly how much time you can remain underwater The CompuMask HUD's primary dive mode always displays approximate Air Time Remaining in 10 minute increments Dive Time Remaining, like Air Time Remaining provides a 'real' number in minutes, considering Air Time Remaining, Nitrogen and Oxygen absorption, and automatically displays whichever allows less time

The 'Turn-Around' Pressure Alarm is a unique patent-pending feature that allows you to pre-program an audible reminder when you reach 1000 to 3000 psi in 250 psi increments (69 to 207 bars in 17 bars increments) This helps ensure that you return to your exit point with plenty of air Take the AERIS challenge: When shopping for a new dive computer, compare the displays When it comes to viewing critical information, which would you rather see at 100' (30 meters)? The CompuMask HUD features a variety of system and user-customized audible alarms, alerting you to situations that pose a potential danger, or simply serve as a convenient reminder

Have you ever had difficulty hearing your computer's audible alarm? Perhaps that little beep signifying a potentially dangerous situation was timed perfectly with your exhaust bubbles rushing past your ears Or maybe it seemed insignificant as that huge manta ray soared overhead You won't miss the CompuMask HUD's audible alarm Once triggered, the alarm will sound continuously for 10 seconds We know what you're thinking "That's nice, I'll definitely hear the alarm, but isn't that going to annoy me and everyone else in the water?" We thought of that too The alarm's job is to get your attention so that you look at the computer Once it does that, simply press the button and it will stop You're a responsible diver and the CompuMask HUD treats you that way

The CompuMask HUD acts simply as an 'Air' computer until you tell it otherwise, whether that is this weekend or 2 years down the road When the Conservative Factor is set to On", the no-decompression limit times are reduced to values equivalent to those that would be available at the next higher 3000' (915 meter) altitude Our tissue loading bar graphs provide complete control of your margin of safety for each dive Want to be a bit more cautious? Make it a personal rule to never enter into the caution zone; or stay one or more pixel away Now you can even program several of our PDCs to do it for you with our patent pending Nitrogen Bar Graph Alarm; set it once and let the CompuMask HUD alert you when your bar graph reaches that level

An audible and visual alarm reminds you as you approach your programmed no decompression safety stops depth and an automatic timer counts down to zero As in any other dive mode, you still have access to other pieces of information, and there is no penalty should you choose to disregard the safety stop Speed through menu items and set modes easily and quickly with AERIS' FastSet Menu and intuitive button operation The CompuMask HUD features time of day on the surface as well as underwater for quick reference Time and date stamp also helps you to easily identify specific dives in Log Mode or PC download memory

These are just some of the functional features of the CompuMask HUD Computer others are Alphanumeric Display, Automatic Altitude Compensation, Diver-Replaceable Batteries, Battery Hot Swap, 24-Hour Fly Countdown and Calculated De-saturation Time, Depth-Dependent Ascent Rate, Adjustable OceanGlo Backlighting, 24 Dive On-Unit Log Book, History Mode, Gauge Mode, and Split Set Mode Access Computer comes with a Owner's Manual and is covered by Aeris 24 month limited warranty

I have had this mask for a little less than a year and I LOVE it!! It's great to have everything you need at a glance. Put the thransmitter on the right side of your first stage to keep them linked. The only thing it's missing is a digital compass, but I can't complain. I have used the mask in the quarry, pool and ocean diving in the Caymans and has hasn't let me down.

I love diving with the mask. It is great for night dives but have to cover right side of mask with hand sometimes to block out light to read if full/partial light.
Downloading dive data gets a huge zero stars. The plug is inside the mask. You have get the three pins to connect which is very difficult to align while trying to watch display in mask being blocked by your hand while reaching for mouse to click download (if you ever get pins aligned). Don't breath or move once shows connected while trying to reach for mouse. Usually takes me about an hour to get it done succesfully.
It does drop wireless link several times during a dive but has not been a problem as re-connects after couple tries. I still have backup air guage for this reason.
As I said, I love diving with the mask. Given price and issues though, I hesitantly still give recommend to purchase.

I have been using this mask for over a year and can't imagine diving without it. Less drag with no additional hose with a guage and no wristmounted computer to snag/loosen/lose. All the dive info is there for you, all the time.
I have used this mask on dives water temps of 34f and had no issues with fogging (except above water when the outside fogged/froze).
When the vis gets really low (brail diving) all the info is still nicely visible.

I really want to mention the seal on the mask, wow! I used to have to shave down my facial hair, but now I can even need to trim my stache and still have no leaks. I tell people half the money paid is worth the seal. The other half is hoseless, the display etc. It is unfortunate the negative reviewers had a bad experience, but some times you have bad luck. I am a divemaster and have used the mask for about a year now...still love it!

Comments about Aeris CompuMask HUD (Heads Up Display) Hoseless Nitrox Dive Computer with Transmitter:

This thing is awesome! When it first arrived, I couldn't wait to play around with it so I quickly skimmed the manual, removed my SPG hose from my 1st stage reg & screwed in the transmitter (about the size of 2 stacked marshmallows). I then turned on the mask and the display went through it's quick self test.
Once the test counted down (only takes about 4 seconds), the pressure read zero. I checked the tank valve, etc... played around for about half an hour before I realized you have to have the mask close to the tank for it to receive the signal. Not a big deal, since your head will normally be right in front of the tank during a dive. It should also not be a problem if you dive side-mount.
So, I had the tank labeled as having 1500psi, and sure enough, the mask read 1545 psi. It displays in 5 psi increments. Nice.
Once I got to try it out in the pool (there's 6" of ice on the lakes around here right now & I dive wet), I truly realized how much this thing is going to make my life easier. No SPG hose to clip, tuck, stow away nor retrieve... all the info you'd ever want (except for a compass) is right there, just below your right eye.
Now, I can concentrate on using my camera & DPV (scooter), and not have to worry about the logistics of the dive.
By the way, I was wondering if I should have saved up longer and purchased the Oceanic version, but when I dug further online, I discovered the Oceanic version is just a re-branded model of this Aeris.

Questions & Answers Powered by TurnTo®

            Questions about this item:

TRAVIS A  I was wondering how well this mask would do in black water. 90% of my diving is done in 0 visibility. My type of diving is very rough on equipment and was wondering if it would hold up?
DAVID H  If you are diving "black water" , this is exactly what you need. You can see your dive pressure, depth, and dive profile inside the mask. You will not have to struggle to keep tabs on the important stuff. The only things it can not do is multiple gas diving profiles and it does not have a compass in the read out. When those functions come available, that will be the TOTAL MASK.
Khody A  Someone complained, in a review, that the HUD can't be shut off temporarily at nighttime to observe bio luminescent activity. To compensate, with your flashlight obviously off, you have to squint your right eye shut. Is this true or is there a setting being missed by the user? Also, does the company provide firmware upgrades to resolve such short comings? Since this is the same mask, made by the same manufacturer, do they use the same silicon skirts? Do they use they same PC software? Does the mini LCD screen show the information in the same format?
ERIC F  Turning the HUD on or off requires only one button press. Oceanic thought of this and built it into the mask.
Porschelyne M  been hearing complaints of issues are those verified or just people posting bad reviews????
DOUGLAS H  The mask is everything it is advertised. My only issue is the slightly added weight. For night diving it excels. I have owned it for 2 years and am completely satisfied.
