Great bcd

By Caleb

Fast shipping, very comfortable to wear. I wish it came in different colors but the bcd is great and has a lot of extras on it.

Great BCD for even better price

By CHARLEY I.

 -  Woodstock, GA, US

When I bought this BCD it was on clearance so the price was even better than usual. Other reviews say the sizes run large and I think I agree. I am 6'0" and 245 lbs and my other BCDs are XXL but I convinced myself to try the XL for this BCD. The fit is great with still some room for bigger adjustment. It provides plenty of lift as well. My previous BCDs were all jacket style so the floatation provided on the surface would tend to float me upright in the water. This BCD is a hybrid jacke...

Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

NICHOLAS R  How many tank straps does it come with? If only one, can one be easily added?
Robert G  It comes with one. You could easily add a second as the plastic plate that the strap threads through actually has 3 slots for straps.
WILLIAM H  One and yes.
Robert G  It only comes with one tank strap. I have never had any problems with mine. You can try to add another one, but I am not sure how you would do it. This has been a great BCD!
JOE S  it is only one strap but there is a hard back plate for stability so you will not need a second strap
DANIEL P  It comes with a single strap, however the tank harness has slots for more straps and I've been thinking of adding another myself.
ERIC H  I am 5' 7" and 215 pounds with a 47 inch chest. Will the XL fit me?
Terri J  I am 5'7" and 185lbs and mine is to big. Actually it's to long. When it's comfortable around my waist it's inches about my shoulders. Ugh.
DANIEL P  I'm 5'10" and 200LBS. I ordered an L and I wish i had ordered a M. It runs large.
KEITH N  They do run large. I had ordered the 2xl but found I needed the XL. I am 6'2" and 240 lbs
PETER H  yes
WILLIAM H  I am 5' 10" and 225 pounds with a 49 inch chest and it fits me perfectly. If anything, it may be just a tad loose for you.
RAYMOND J  Yes No problem I'm 5ft 11inches with a 50 inch chest so your be right with it
JOE S  You are borderline LG and XL. The shoulder straps might be a little long on a XL. You can go to this link and look under specs to see where you fall. http://www.diveaeris.com/atmos-hd/
CHRISTOPHER B  I would start with the large. I'm 6'1" and 200 and had to send the XL back because it was way too big.
KEITH N  I would agree. Straps are somewhat adjustable but start with a LG and work from there.
Shopper  the pictures indicate this is a •Integrated Weight System,, but nothing about that in the description, is it?
RANDALL Y  It is an integrated weight system. You see the lighter gray snap handles in the picture. You do have to press in on the black snap to get the weights off in an emergency, but this is easy to do and I prefer it to gear we have rented in the past that was TOO easy to get out. Also trim weight pouches easily accessible on the back.
WILLIAM L  Yes it is integrated. Has dumpable pockets in the front and two non dumpable on the tank strap.
BRAD B  Yes there are 2 quick release wight pockets on the front/sides and 2 non-dumpable weight pocket on the tank strap.
MICHAEL W  Yes, the gray clip you see holds the weights in a firm separate pouch, which slides in and out of the sleeve very easily.
CLAYTON W  Yes. I purchased this BC a few months ago and it is a great BC. It has the intergrated weight system in the side pockets with quick release buckles of emergency dumping of weights. Each pocket will hold up to 10 lbs for a total of 20lbs. It also has non dumpable pouches on the tank strAp for extra weight and/or trim weights.
JIM T  Yes it is. The pocket / pouch on each side can hold 2 standard sized (eg 5 lb) lead weight blocks. The pouch has double retension: velcro closure plus snap-in cips. There are also small side/ rear/shoulder-blade pockets that can each hold 1 lead block.
Robert G  Yes. Looking at the picture you will see two gray handles at the front bottom of the vest. Those are quick release handles that when you disconnect them from the vest and pull them out, there are pouches attached to them that slide into pockets in the front of the vest. You can put weights in those pockets. There are also two pouches attached to the tank strap on the back of the vest in which weights can be placed.
WILLIAM E  Yes, the BC is weight integrated.
CHRIS C  Yes this BCD has two large removable pcckets with quick release buckles, I also added two weight pouches on the tank strap. Just got back from Mexico. Over twenty dives with this BCD. No complaints
Lindsey H  Yes there's integrated weight pouch on each side. If you look at the picture closely there is a grey handle just before the waste clip. There's one on each side plus a pouch on the back.
JUNE H  The ATMOS is weight-integrated with a combination of dumpable (20 lbs.) and non-dumpable (10 lbs.) weight pockets.
CHRISTOPHER B  I bought my Atmos last month and have 27 dives with it so far. It is weight integrated and has an excellent release system. By the way, add the Aeris octo-inflater--totally nice to be able to have one less hose.
Bill F  Does have a breathing tube. All I need with this BC is a mask, fins and air tank? thank you
Monica s  No you cannot breath off of this, this is a Buoyancy Compensator Jacket with a standard power inflator, not a Breathing regulator. You still need a full regulator set up (1st stage 2nd stage octo, and gauges)
Frederick M  Would this be an appropriate first bcd for someone mainly interested in reef diving in warm locales?
WAYNE H  yes
JOE S  This would be a great BC for a first BC. This is a hybrid bc which means that at the surface it will not push you forward making it uncomfortable. However on the dive, the air transfers from the lobes on the side to the wing in the back giving you the proper trim that a back inflation BCD gives. It's not very heavy or bulky so it would be great for warm water.
BILL S  It would be perfect for that application.
Frederick M  Thank you Bill. Can you say more? What aspect of this is perfect for that application? Do you have first hand experience with this model? Are their other bcds that you would also recommend?
BILL S  Hi Fred, This is the only BCD I've owned, but I have tried several others. There are three reasons why I like this BC. 1. Customer service. When things needed repair ( I was diving daily at the time), Oceanic, the company behind Aeris, was on it and on it fast with a great turnaround. 2. You tend to stay more horizontal with the bladder shape Aeris ha. It's a given you want to do away with weight belts and go integrated. 3. The side pockets are small, making the whole rig less cumbersome. It used to be you brought back "treasures," as well as trash. Big side pockets were of value. Not so much anymore. Just to underscore how much I like this specific BC, I got one in July, from Leisure Pro, for my daughter, who began diving before I did.
