About ACR GlobalFix Pro Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon
The GlobalFix PRO with an internal GPS quickly and accurately relays your position to a worldwide network of Search and Rescue satellites, reducing search time and increasing your chances of survival. The GlobalFix PRO broadcasts a unique registered distress signal that not only tells rescuers where you are, but who you are. The internal GPS will automatically turn on and acquire your position upon activation and then utilizes a powerful 406 MHz signal to relay your distress call to orbiting satellites. As local Search and Rescue is deployed, a separate homing signal and integrated LED strobe light guide rescuers to your exact location.
The GlobalFix PRO is small and rugged and comes with over 53 years of life saving technology built into every one. Performing a full functional self-test of the GlobalFix PRO internal circuitry, battery voltage & power, and 406 MHz transmission gives you the peace of mind knowing your Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB) will work the moment you need it the most. ACR Exclusive: Built-in GPS acquisition test mode allows you to test the internal GPS receiver to ensure its working properly. Tap in to the same field-tested rescue technology used by the U.S. Military, Coast Guard, NATO, Special Forces and Arctic explorers.
The GlobalFIX Pro measures 7" x 4.2" x 3.6" (17.7 cm x 10.7 cm x 9.1 cm), without antenna, and weighs 20.5 oz. (581 g). The case is made from a high impact, UV resistant polymer has a 4 LED array strobe light and is waterproof to 33' (10 meters) for 10 minutes, exceeding RTCM standards. The strobe function has a flash rate of 20 to 30 per minute with a 360° visibility range. The units output is 5 W (406.037 MHz), is powered by a class 2 (non-hazmat) lithium battery (user replaceable) LiMnO2 with an operational life of +48 hours at -4°F (-20°C) and longer in higher ambient temperatures. The beacon can be manually activated, floats in water and comes with an owner's manual. The GlobalFIX has the following approvals: Cospas-Sarsat Certificate #189 and FCC ID #B66ACR-RLB36.
