Hella recommended

By George A.

Perfect for me. Pretty much everything I need in an advanced recreational computer. No, I'm not interested in any other option besides air and nitrox and I don't need an intergral compass. I do need a SIT reset, P0 and down dive options, alarm silencing, big screen and big legible data. Super easy to find change settings and hit "ENTER" Much easier to use than I expected. If I was doing to put a wish list together for everything I wanted in a recreational computer for an experienced diver - ...

Great Dive CPU at the right price

By CARL B.

 -  Palm City, FL, US

I would like to say that this an excellent entry level computer and that it really should be the one sought after before the puck mounted style cpus or the one button touch! This CPU is built with the diver who wants to dive more than a few vacations in mind while still being simple enough for the newest of divers. Things I love about it : has air, nitrox and bottom timer settings as well as altitude in case i ever go north of florida and its sea level geography. The screen is large but not s...

Shopper  Trying to get instructions manual for this computer please help?
MORDECHAI S  You can download from Mares
MORDECHAI S  You can download on the internet. I think from Mares website.
Marcelo D  hello friend, enter the adress below mares / shop / en-IC / downloads / manuals / computer-manuals / quad-4
WILLIAM M  I've been able to download manuals for the Mares Puck and Mares Puck Pro from the Mares website, although I don't recalling looking for this one in the past.
TOM M  Google "mares quad wrist computer manual" and download it.
Shopper  How big is the display window?
GRANT M  The numbers are large and easy to see. The screen doesn’t have a lot of confusing clutter, making it quick to read the information you need.
GRANT M  It is large enough to be easily viewed during a dive and the light helps in low vis situations.
Neil F  Have backlight during night dive?
WILIAM W  Yes
Kim J  Yes. It’s a great computer. Easy to read and to navigate through the various functions
CRYSTAL A  There is a backlight you can activate but it doesn't stay on and you wouldn't want it to.
WILLIAM R  Yes Neil and it works good during night dives. You can adjust how long or short it stays illuminated.
STEVE F  Yes Neil and it works good during night dives. You can adjust how long or short it stays illuminated.
Jill K  Does the nitrox percentage stay set until you change it or does it revert back to air during surface intervals?
CYNTHIA F  It stays 8ntil you change it.
William R  Stays set.
WILIAM W  Stays at percent set till changed back to 21%
Joseph L  Mine holds it Nitrox setting and I have to manually set back to Air
duane s  It will stay at the percent you set it at until you physically change the percentage or change it back to regular air
Raymond M  It stays set until you change it. I'm very happy with this model; a great value.
Kim J  It stays in nitrox mode until you change it back to air
SUSAN S  It stays where you set it.
MORDECHAI S  I bought it as a backup computer and generally leave it set to air, so don’t remember if it stays sane for dive two as dive one - or goes into “worse case scenario mode” (79% nitrogen 99% oxygen) if you don’t reset between dives. But this is something definitely covered in the owner’s manual. Download the Manuel .PDF directly from Mares and you’ll find your answer.
jose manuel p  Does this computer provide the 2 minutes deepstop once you reach 80 feet or more ?
ELOY V  Hello, Yes it does via visual an audible signal. It´s a solid piece of equipment that ive used many times. Thanks for contacting me.
DREW W  The Quad does have a Deep Stop function. This can be turned off by user. The trigger for the stop is proprietary...according to the manual it is triggered when approaching ndl...depth is not specified. You can either do a 2 min deep stop, or two stops at a minute each. The manual is available on line
FRED D  No it does not. Other than this I really like it.
MORDECHAI S  Sorry I don’t know. I just picked up this computer as a redundant computer in case my primary computer (Atomic Cobalt) ever fails mid dive, but haven’t had a chance to dive with it yet. Still, regardless whether or not the comouter requires a deep stop as part of its algorithm, you can certainly choose do a 2 min stop at on the way up, then continue with your ascent. That’s what I usually do.
jose manuel p  I want to know if this Dive Computer has a 2 minutes Deep Stop at half your max depth greater than 80 feet ?
