new gloves, used before washing, leave hands dry and with a rash. After several uses problem solved. Is there some chemical in the glove that causes this condition or is this strictly my problem? As noted, have been using these gloves for years, like them, and for years have had the same problem. Just wondering.

No. Just look at the picture. They're open at the finger tips. If you need to keep your nails dry, try putting on a pair of inexpensive exam gloves underneath them.
