Best Item I've bought!

By JACQUELINE T.

Love this thing - I always have the same things in the same pockets, the pockets are HUGE but the velcro sides keep them from just floating out there. The velcro is strong, so I put some velcro strips on the pockets to reduce the attachment areas. This is good, though, because in a few years, if the velcro breaks down, I can remove the strips for "fresh" velcro.

Warm-water answer for Tech Divers!

By Haole

This is an excellent product for tech divers who want to dive in warm water (without their drysuit). It provides two standard-sized side pockets positioned just like the drysuit, therefore no fiddling around looking for gear. They are the perfect answer to Tech Divers or Backplate lovers who like to sometimes get out of the caves and enjoy the tropics!

If you're a working diver and can never get enough storage pockets to carry everything you need to work underwater XS Scuba has just what you have been looking for. The Highland by XS Scuba 2mm Super Stretch Neoprene Pocket Shorts will give you plenty of extra storage and attachment points for everything you can come up with to attach to your gear.

Shorts fit over your wet or dry suit are made of super stretch neoprene rubber with a nylon cord draw string at the waist with barrel lock for a snug and secure fit. The shorts are durable with flat-lock stitched seams for strength and advanced bike short pattern for comfort. The pockets have double needle sewn construction. Shorts have two cargo pockets made from 1680-Denier ballistic nylon, with large hook and loop flap closures. Each pocket has five .75" (1.9cm) 316-stainless-steel grommets, three 1" (2.5cm) 316-stainless-steel D-rings, and two 4" (10.2cm) webbing straps for gear attachment on each pocket.

Pockets are (H x W x D) 9" x, 6" x 3" (22.9cm x 15.2cm x 7.6cm) have interior mesh pockets, and if not in use they can be held flat with hook and loop tabs. Shorts come in multiple sizes, are black in color, are equipped with hide-away nylon cord loop for hanging. So, you need more pockets XS Scuba can provide them for you.

Questions about this item:

SCOTT V  I wear a 34-35" waist in jeans.  I have a 5mm full wetsuit.  Based on the feedback I've been reading in the reviews....I don't know what size to order?
Mario C  Hey Scott, yes reviews on this one are particularly all over the place.. i do believe that starting with the size chart is a good idea keeping in mind that is using actual waist measurement - with no suit and XS scuba does size it larger from there since this is wetsuit drysuit compatible.. you know me.. i will not guarantee fit.. i do believe that for the 5mm suit, with the very stretchy material the Medium will be perfect with you 5mm suit.. the very nature of suit fitting challenges is what created our PFF program so shoppers can buy with more confidence knowing we will stand up and offer free return for size exchange on the same model originally purchased. thx again for the good question, that should help more people in the future. Dive dive dive!!!
JACQUES L  I have waist 33" so I could order either M or L!! I plan to use only with wetsuit (3, 5 and 7mm). Which one should I order?
ABHISHEK A  Medium for sure. Even a 7mm wetsuit will only add 14mm (~ 0.5") to your waist, and they stretch quite a bit as is. Better to have it snug so the cargo pockets don't flop around while you dive.
JASON J  I would order the Medium, the material stretches quite a bit.
Shopper  I'm a small woman diver (approximately a 24" waist, 5'1'' in height) but these shorts see like a great option for my diving needs. Do you think a small will fit or are these constructed primarily for men? Will they be hopelessly large?
DAVID H  I am a larger person, and I ordered the size that I thought would fit and it was fine. I have worn it in Palau without a wetsuit, and in other places with a wetsuit. It's fine if it's a little tight because it stretches nicely, and it's no problem to be a bit loose. This product is AWESOME. I am a GUE diver, so I like to have my things in the right place when I do recreational diving without my drysuit. I am very glad that I bought these. I might buy another pair as a spare, because every time I like something it stops getting made!
CHRISTINE U  If it is possible, get an XS. I myself have not used them but my husband and his dive team swear by them!!! Hope that helps!!
ABHISHEK A  I'm a guy and I have a SMALL size of the X-shorts (my waist is 30-31"). The X-shorts waist seems to shrink down to approximately 24-26" as best as I can measure, with the short cuffs measuring about 19" diameter. I'm going to guess the SMALL size may end up being a bit large on you. The cuffs would very likely be loose on your thighs, causing the pockets to swing around to the front when you're in a horizontal trim. I hope this helps.
ALLISON R  Based on my experience, they are constructed for men and will be hopelessly large. I am 5'2" size 6-8 and they were massive. The legs are quite baggy and the waist is huge. The waistband itself is very thick. These shorts would be good over a really bulky drysuit. They are very well made and the pockets look indestructible -- I would recommend them to anyone who wants heavy-duty shorts and a loose fit. As an alternative, I found some 1 mm ones by Scubapro that are a slim fit but stretchy enough to go on over a thick wetsuit. The pockets are not as strong and they don't have all the D-rings, so that's the trade-off.
LISA G  I'm a 5'3" woman (size 26 jeans), and I wear these shorts with a drysuit. They will probably be big on you, but there is a waist cord that you can snug up. These shorts are the best option if you don't have pockets on your suit.
Shopper  I'm using a Dive Rite Transpac with integrated weight pockets. Will these pockets & the weight pockets work together, or because they are in similar locations they will be on top of one another?
BORIS P  As long as your harness is a proper size (not overly tall for your chest) it should be fine, as the pockets on the shorts will be considerably lower than the integrated weights.
MORGAN A  Can't help as they didn't fit my "mature male figure" (42" waist). They were just what I wanted to dive with my Hollis Side Mount SMS100D BCD witDive Riteh back mount weights plate and back inflation. I gifted them to my very appreciative Navy LCDR son who'll dive them thissummer at Galapagos. I went to clip on Dive Rite thigh pouches.
MIYUKI S  It should work fine together. The pockets on the shorts will be lower than the weight pockets.
LAUREN D  The pockets on the pants sit way lower than my bc. I have used them with both my jacket style bc and my halcyon and have not had any problems accessing items in the pockets. The pockets are more on the sides of your thighs not up on your hips.
Shopper  I have a 42 - 44" waist and all my wet suits are 3XL will the X-large size fit me without self destructing?
DAVID H  I can't say exactly because I don't wear your size, but they are fairly stretchy and very sturdy. I gained a lot of weight since I bought mine, and they are fine; I also wear them over my wetsuit. I can only guess, but I would think so.
JON S  I have a 38" waist and have the large version. they fit ok over a 3xl semi dry 8/7mm suit. So you should be ok with the XL
DARRYL R  These shorts tend to run larger than you would think for the size listed. I would THINK that XL should fitt you
MORGAN A  Unfortunately, they will not. I, too, share your "mature male" stature and purchased a pair for myself with the hope I might be able to either squeeve into them or have them provide sufficient incentive to "return to my fighting weight of yesteryear". I ended up passing them to my 36 year old son whose waist aligns with these XL shorts. He loves them and finds their portable versatility across his closet full of wetsuits of varying thickness/thermal protection a more than satisfying alternative to glue-on bellows pockets for each wetsuit as I have had to do. Alas, when I tried to convince Highland to manufacture "mature male sizes", they did not appreciate the breadth (pun intended!) of the potential marketplace. I wonder when they last dived? There are plenty of us "Big Boys" out there and most of us are seasoned instructors!!! Morgan A.
JASON J  Should fit just fine. I have about the same size waist, fluctuates between 42 & 45 :) and I own the XL pair of these. The tag says 37"-41" but they are very comfortable. I used these for a month straight diving 3-4 times a day on a recent trip to Roatan, Honduras and they held up very well.
ARRICK C  I'm the same size and they fit good except for the waste is cut low for me, I'm 6'5. Otherwise, I love them.
RYAN B  They seem true to size
ABHISHEK A  FWIW, I have a 30-31" waist and the Medium fits me quite well. Hope it's helpful information.
