Yesterday, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler shared a picture of himself Back in the Saddle all geared up and ready to dive. Clearly his dive gear isn’t just a bunch of Toys in the Attic.

REBREATHER CERTIFIED…NOW I CAN STAY DOWN FOR 10 HOURS
We weren’t sure about the rebreather part since clearly he’s on standard open circuit SCUBA gear. Judging from the nitrox-marked tanks, perhaps he meant he is now nitrox certified. Hopefully the divemasters on the boat make sure he doesn’t Walk This Way to the water!
While we’re still waiting to hear back to confirm all of his gear choices, we did our best to put together a shopping list if you want to gear up like Steven Tyler, so enjoy this Amazing list with us!
Oceanic Excursion 2 BCD
A popular BCD that has an over 4.5 out of 5 review with 96% of respondents saying they would recommend it to a friend, Oceanic’s Excursion 2 BCD has you covered for all kinds of recreational diving. Due to the comfort and well thought out pockets and attachment points, you’ll be feeling all kinds of Sweet Emotions while diving this BCD.
Mares X-Stream Open Heel Fins
Another 4.5 star out of 5 rating with 89% of respondents saying they’d recommend it to a friend, the Mares X-Stream Open Heel Fins are powerful and comfortable fins from one of the leaders in fin design. While Steven appears to have chosen the red color scheme, depending on your size you may have 7 different color schemes to choose from. When you Don’t Want to Miss a Thing, these fins will help you cover any dive site.
We have to Dream On a little with this one since most of it is safely stowed away. The gray and black exhaust tee on the second stage sure seems to indicate the Atomic Aquatics M1 Regulator. Reviewers give this regulator a full 5 stars with 100% of respondents saying they would recommend this regulator to a friend.
Finishing out the regulator set appears to be the classic TUSA Platina II Octopus with the upgraded Miflex Low Pressure Hoses. We can’t see the gauges too well, but looking at the shape and position of the compass combined with a likelihood of a nitrox compatible dive computer, we’d recommend the Aeris A100 Computer Console with Compass.
The wetsuit seems to be the Same Old Song and Dance, black nondescript neoprene. So take your pick, just make sure it doesn’t fit like a Rag Doll!
So now you have an idea of how you can gear up for your next SCUBA dive like Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, but that won’t get you on Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Singers list.
