I used this lamp in the cold water of Quebec and Maine. Now I don't know if it's because of the cold, but the light refused to go off when I turned the switch during or after the dives. I had to remove the batteries. I sent the lamp back to leisurepro [...] replaced it with a new one. It had exactly the same problem. It just simply doesn't work. [...]

I would only use this light when polespearing close range within holes and under rocks. The beam is not very intense, but the light is very portable and handy when detached from the belt- I always have the lanyard around my wrist or further up my non-dominant arm. Perfect for peaking under a rock, or looking in a small hole- range of about 4 feet. If used for this purpose its good for the price- if you're looking for a powerful handy light, don't rely on this torch.
