Is this regulator suitable for NEAR FREEZING waters? Ice diving...
DOUG S Sorry, I have only used my Zeagle in warm waters. I have had no problems so far.
K T While I have this model, I have not used in cold water.
LIAM G I have used the device in tropical waters only, where the rig has proven very reliable and rugged. If I had any regrets about it I would say that it is worth the extra money to get the Envoy Delux model.
FRANK A I haven't used this particular one for that app, but i've done ice diving with my dsv-4/zx and have had no problems. This reg seems similar to the zx second stage, just without the adjustment knob.
DAVID F I use a zeagle and i like them but I would recommend you use a balanced piston regulator like a Scubapro MK25/A700 Regulator, that are designed for colds water use. They are more expensive but worth it you dont want to lose your air in freezing water
ERIC P Hey Joel,
I cannot specify on whether it can handle ice diving, but I can tell you that I did have a couple issues (free flow) with this Octopus and had to send it back to Leisure Pro to have them fix it. It was under warranty so it didn't cost anything and the folks at Leisure Pro were really helpful.
JOSH R No. For water that cold you will want the CW Octopus or the ZX Octopus.
HUY D I wouldn't if I erred on the side of safety. The octo should be a device you use for an emergency. This regulator has no heat sink.
BOB C That's a technical question that the Zeagle company should answer directly.
That Octo has been perfect for me and for my wife but we've only been in warmer waters.
