Questions about this item:
Chris D Can't decide what to get!
Looking at 911, ranger or ranger ltd.
Will mainly be used for research but will also be my recreational bc
May also consider tech 10
I live in north Western Australia
Can someone help guide me?
ROBERT M Also, there are two spaces on either side, between the bladder and pockets, for an SMB or two with finger reals. SMB pockets are available cheap and fit well... you don't even realize they are there until you need them. I would recommend going with stainless steel hardware as they're easier to maintain and match the mounting points of the BCD.
Hope this helps and good luck in your purchase,
-Rob
ROBERT M I've owned the 911 for three years now with 200+ dives. For me this is a perfect hybrid between a wing and wrap around style BCD. You get the level plane glide position without sacrificing pocket space. Perfect for instruction as there are several well placed and designed rings and enough pocket space for spare mask, rescue breathing mask and even a small flashlight. Also the additional octo / spare regulator attachment, built into the inflator, has worked well and reduced my number of hoses... a bit restrictive for right head turn movement though. The ripcord weight release system works well, only requiring adjustment every year or so. Overall super high quality material, very tough. I would definitely recommend this BCD.
ali s can i assemble my zeagle backplate to zeagle 911?
ali s yes, i want to dive with doubles. i think it will be more efficient with backplate? and can i use any of zeagle backplates?
GARRETT D I need a little more info. Are you diving with doubles?
DAVID C They were back ordered at the time I ordered mine and ended up changing to a OMS setup and love it. Don't know the answer for you but I hope they have what you need. Sorry
JEFFERY A Yes you can. I've used twin tanks with a back plate on my 911
BLAIR A It's not quite as intuitive as I hoped but it ended up being easier then I expected. There were very limited instruction sets out on the web so I basically took the whole thing apart hoping I could re-thread the bladder through my Zeagle backplate. Turned out it was much easier. Just un-velcro the back pad. Bolt the backplate on and re-velcro the back pad. You have the stretch the back pad out a bit but the velcro on the the Zeagles are so strong it worked out. I've been diving with it for month now with no problems. I have yet to setup doubles and I'm curious to see if the bladder gets in the way with the pressure from the backplate on the other side. The bladder seems out to the side enough and big enough that it should be okay.
Ian T Interested in your zeagle 911 ... is it possible to get the Medium Straps on a large bc ??
Monica s It is not possible to get medium straps on a large bc, sorry.
Shopper was wondering what the bcd is like at the surface (wether it has the tendancy to tip you forward etc) as i am trying to determine its practicality for instructor use?
ROBERT M It takes a dive or so to get used to it. At the surface I find it comfortable to maintain a "reclining chair" position. Definitely a good BCD for instruction (I love it!), although you will have to wear an additional weight belt for training beginners as the ripcord weight release system is time consuming to re-thread and should be used only in emergencies.
Good luck in your purchase.
