i saw this knife at one of the Florida springs. A Tech-Rec cave diver had the blunt tip version mounted to his rig. He showed it to me and told me that he liked the way the it fulfilled the function of a knife and shears all in one. He did mention that while he saw no need for a "razor sharp" dive knife, that the plain edge of the fogcutter was a little too dull for his taste and that he had to sharpen it at bit. He thought that the Recon version was too long.

I bought a similar knife and have been very happy with it. Several of the other divers in our club have since purchased fogcutters. I did notice that the plain edge on mine was dull enough to run my finger along without any harm. A friend who is a knife smith put a serviceable edge on it for me.

Other than the edge being just a bit too dull, I REALLY like this knife/shears combination.

I agree that the only draw back it the mounting slots. VERY limited on what you can do with it.

I am very happy, only drawback is the sheath doesn't have many "mounting" options.
