The UK HID Light Cannon is a very intense blue light beam with a long burn time. I used the light for the first time on a recent dive trip where I did four very long night dives with no reduction in beam intensity. It's a great HID primary dive light for recreational diving and at a reasonable price. See the picture of a Basket Star I found on my night dive while using the UK Light Cannon.

Everything the folks are saying about this light being powerful is true. For the money, this is a blazing hot light cannon at 450 lumens output. (buy lots of batteries) Unfortunately, however, the cheap plastic inner switch (pictured) can loosen quite easily as it pivots around a simple phillips screw when you turn the light off / on. The net effect is that the loosened inner switch does not follow the outer switch (also pictured) as you move it from Off to On position. You will be in total darkness without warning. And don't try shaking your baby back to life or trepidly rotating the switch around… When it’s done – it’s done.So if you should happen to find yourself in a cave filled with strong surge and needle sharp sea urchins - and your buddy decides to take off in another direction looking for lobsters - that's a bad time to realize that you have an expensive UK Light Cannon 100 with a crummy [$] cent plastic inner switch in it. That switch will make up it's own mind when it decides to stop contacting your fresh new batteries. That Wow-Factor of, "Hey Cool! - I have an awesome new flashlight toy!" could become seriously trumped by that "Holy cow - I'm about to die" feeling. Don’t worry, your light will start working again if you make it back to your car, open the seal, and move the inner switch around with your finger.Bet your life on a [$] piece of plastic that is impossible to tighten with a normal screwdriver? I'll be spending the extra money on an upgrading to a DIR compliant Tektite, Halcyon, or OMS product.

Comments about Underwater Kinetics "Light Cannon" HID Dive Light with Pistol Grip:

My dive buddy dropped mine. The cost of the globe was so expensive. The single O ring is not good enough. Double O ring seals should be the industry standard. The single O ring is flimsy. This light fails miserably on two very serious counts. UK go back to the drawing board. Your previous model UK1200R lasted me for 12 years and I loved it. This one fails big time!

I feel some fishes like this ligth, even a turtle and a globe fish came to ligth.

I would try this lamp to take pictures at deep, because light is very clear.

Comments about Underwater Kinetics "Light Cannon" HID Dive Light with Pistol Grip:

I've had this light three years. It's heavy, so I only use it in on night, cave, and wreck dives, but I loved it until it suddenly quit in a washing machine in our local reef. Later, it worked intermittently in cenotes in the Yucatan, and now it's on its way to UK for analysis. Also, the switch lock likes to come out in your hand underwater. Hmmm---

Comments about Underwater Kinetics "Light Cannon" HID Dive Light with Pistol Grip:

I dive low vis lakes all the time and this is the best light I have ever used. It does drain batteries quickly so I would recommend getting the rechargable batteries. I would also get a better lanyard. The one it comes with you have to keep the light on your wrist and can't connect it to your BC.

This light is fantastic. I cant say anything bad about this light, its not to big but its bright as anything. Diving in Baltimore you need a good light to see in almost 0 vis and i would recommend this light to everyone.
