Yes the light still worked well and did the job, but for the size of the thing, compared to other more compact options on the market i was a little dissapointed.
used once, night dive & pritty silty. My freinds Princeton tec shockwave (halogen) seemed brighter and took over the D8.

after speaking to some local dive shops, the rechargable battery pack provides a much brighter light, especially with the 30w bulb as opposed to the 14w standard.

Great light, very bright and I really like the back up bulb is available by the twist of a switch. A bit heavy, but not a real problem when you are in the water.

I bought 2 of these in Dec. One for me and one for my dive buddy for our night dive class. Batteries are still going strong after about 4 hours of use. It's a bit heavy, but you don't notice it as bad in the water. Overall a really good value for a primary......

For the price this is a great light. It is very bright. I have only used it once so I can not say how well it will hold up. It is not as good as a HID light but it is very well priced. You could buy this one until you save up enough for a HID and use it as a back up. You can feel the heat from the light. Much better than my Brite lite 5000.
