From California summers to Florida winters and everything in between, the 5 mm SolAFX answers the call. The 5 mm Nylon II SolAfx is based upon Aqua Lung's most advanced cold water wetsuit, the 8/7 mm SolAFX. It can be a perfect seasonal suit when the water temperature is in the 60s (15.5 C+) and 70s (21 C+). This across-the-chest zipper, hood-attached suit is made entirely out of four-way stretch AquaFlex 5 mm neoprene so you can be warm and comfortable at the same time.
The suits outer fabric is a tighter weave making it more hook and loop resistant eliminating the frayed appearance seen on other suits. Inner fabric is super-soft for extra comfort against bare skin. All seams are glued and double blind-stitched for added warmth and extreme durability. The attached hood not only prevents cold water from entering the neck, it also features Vent G2" technology that allows trapped regulator exhaust bubbles to exit while keeping cold water out. Hood also can be custom trimmed to fit your face with the easy trim face seal.
The entire suit is made with non-petroleum based neoprene raw material that is more environmentally friendly. Suit is a true 5 mm suit; this is the thickness of the base neoprene before the nylon layers get added. The Plasmaloc" zipper has tighter tolerances and a unique integrated tooth design that make the zipper more water resistant than most competitors' models. A water dam covers the neck and shoulders to add another level of thermal protection against any water ingress through the zipper. Skin-in" gasket seals in the forearms and calves minimize water entry through the sleeves and legs. Kidney pad fills void in lower back to keep water out. Improved kneepads offer increased flexibility and are more resistant to abrasion and Lycra trimmed wrists and ankles for added durability. Suit is anatomically designed with both pre-bent legs and arms giving a more natural feeling when diving. Fresh graphics make the suit more fun and exciting.
