I use the product snorkeling, free diving, and spearfishing. It is great because the purge valve works great as long as you pull your head out of the water. It is not a beginner snorkel though as it does tend to flood and doesn't keep water from entering when you submerge. Beginners should get a snorkel with a close off valve at the top.

This snorkel is way, way, way too big. I was constantly trying to get out of my face. It's like strapping a dumbbell to your head, to be frank. I understand the wide bore idea, but it's getting outrageous. I haven't noticed a big difference in breathing capability anyways. It's still a snorkel, and it's still not all that efficient. I should also mention that it flooded rather easily in open water during swells ranging from 3' (feet) to 6'.

Picked this up to replace an old snorkel. I was impressed with the big bore which equalled noticabally more air. We had a couple of long surface snorkels in Hawaii while shore diving in some good chop and the snorkel did its job without me getting any nasty surprises. The Impule 3 is the easiest purging snorkel I have ever owned. The only complaint I have is the atattchment to the mask seems hard to detatch..which is maybe a good thing depending on how you look at it.

Primary use is for scuba diving, secondary use free diving spearfishing.Bought this to replace my aging 1974 snorkel. Found this one to be the only one that, just like my old snorkel, had no air flow restriction or breathing resistance. Very important at the end of a dive, especially if you have a long swim back to the boat or shore.Since I don't like clips I use a silicon keeper instead.This snorkel has some mass to it, so I wouldn't suggest it be used as a first time snorkel for children.

I use this snorkel while SCUBA Diving. It's great because it is flexible and the mouthpiece drops down out of the way when not in use, but is easily accessible when needed. Best snorkel I've ever used.

I'm into spearfishing and at times we meet hard sea conditions...this snorkel is one of the best I've used....it delivers what is says...you will always breath easily no matter what waves you encounter.I've bought many snorkels....most are on the expensive side....none work as well as this one.
