joey m I'm going to be doing a lot of snorkeling in the Bahamas this summer, probably about 30 dives. Is this an adequate snorkel for a trip like mine?
ROBERT M This is an excellent snorkel for that. I bought this for my wife and I who both dive and snorkel. I was impressed enough that I bought 4 more for my grown children. They are comfortable to use, trouble free, and stay dry in choppy water. If mine were to ever be lost or broken I would buy this snorkel again without ever looking at another model.
JAMES G H I have this snorkel and have used this model for several years. Yes this snorkel will definitely be adequate for snorkeling in the Bahamas. I use mine while on the surface before or after SCUBA diving, and have snorkeled with it, too. The materials are high quality. It has a purge valve that works well and makes it easier to empty the tube if you get it filled with water. I recommend this.
ROBERT H With about eight snorkel/dive trips in the last ten years, I've tried quite a number of snorkels. If my Impulse 2 was lost or broken, I'd look for another right away. It is by far the best snorkel I've used. (Including the Impulse 3, which I found to be a step backward.) It has held up well to lots of abuse. You won't be sorry you got it.
As an aside, I was a Navy jet pilot. The annulus reminds me of the same kind of technology used in high-bypass jet engines. Clearing the tube is easy, but generally only needed when diving down. Waves breaking over the tip just bypass the breating tube and exit via the bypass.
Have a great time. We spent nearly two months in the Bahamas. Great snorkeling and incredible beaches. You'll love it all.

LINDA B It is a good snorkel in that the mouhtpiece is super soft. But...my valve (half way up the snorkel) to prevent water from going in the snorkel tore from my blowing out (I am a female) and I was left with a snorkel that took on water. Cannot recommend it for that reason. But, my husbands worked perfectly.

MATT S I have been using this snorkel for more than eight years now, and it is fantastic. I primarily use if for spearfishing in New England or Hawaii. Most of my friends have this one, or the older model as well, and all of us swear by it.
PETER L Short answer, yes. It is a little top heavy so it has a tendency to "flip" when not in your mouth. However, I think it is one of the larger bore snorkels so the air flow is great.
