Questions about this item:
Shopper I'm trying to decide what to get. Why did you pick this one?
TIM K I have a set of Atomic Split Fins that I am happy with. These are very close to the same design, but slightly shorter in length so they are easier to pack for travel out of the country. I consider them to be an excellent fin. I will use either brand depending on where I am diving.
JENNIFER G I bought a BCD, fins and some peripheral equipment from a guy on Craigslist. These were the fins.
My husband lost one, and I liked them so much that I immediately bought another pair from LeisurePro. I have 8 pairs of fins and these are, without question, my favorite.
They give you a great deal of forward momentum for just a little expenditure in energy.
TIFFANY G These are great for med to advance divers. They have great power and outstanding manuvering with the split fin. You cant go wrong for steping up to the next level, I used them in both cold water Monterey ca and warm water Cabo san lucas...
DAVID G I bought these as a gift for my father and he loves them. I personally prefer a solid fin for more accuracy of movement, and my fins are Tusa Tri-Ex. I love my fins, so I decided to give Dad the split fin version, since that is his thing.
JAN C A friend had a pair and I had tried them. I liked the fit and the way they felt in the water. Also, I liked the price - compared to other like fins, these were a good deal. I still have the fins and have not had any issues with them - including the heel straps. Still working fine after all this time. I dive cold water in Puget Sound and spend as much time as possible in warm water. I am a dive instructor with over 1500 dives.
JACK M claims from other reviewers of it's efficiency. yes, it is very efficient and very comfortable (when worn with neoprene booties).
Jo J I want to order these for my husband. He wears a size 8 Mens. His boot size falls between a 7.5 and a 8. Do you recommend a Small or a Medium? Seems he is right on the cusp.
Also - do these work well for snorkeling too? We dive and snorkel.
Thanks in advance!
ROB W Jo I would personally go with the medium as I hate when my foot feels crushed in the toe box. As for snorkeling...if it is deeper water they work great but are not good over very shallow reefs as the fins are quite long.
Hope this helps
DAMON H Hello-
If he is going to wear booties I would suggest medium. For bare feet size small may be better. These have worked great for me for diving but I have not used them for snorkling. Hope this helps,
Damon
Shopper My wife wears a size 9shoe with a 3m boot on what size fin do you recommend?
CARLOS F It's difficult for me to recommend a fin size for a #9 shoe because I wear #12 shoes, and the XL fins are fine with 3 mm booties.
I suggest to follow the manufacturer recommendations and she'll be OK, The adjustable straps give a lot of flexibility.
michael c Are these fins negative buoyancy?
PAUL T they sink. they are a nice fin for travel and easy diving but not very strong against current.
TIM K The fins are slightly negative, but you have time to react if one happens to slip from your grasp.
michael c Are these negative buoyancy?
CHARLIE K I never really thought to check. I did a shore dive once and put them on in the water but cant remember them sinking or floating. My best guess would be they are negative.
I can tell you, they are the best fins I have used. They do as advertised. My previous paddle type fins did fatigue my legs. These split fins move so smooth through the water that I forget they are even on my feet when swimming.
One of the best dive equipment purchases I?ve made so far.
And I should also say the Leisure Pro sales and support group is a great group of people. They are friendly and very helpful with all my questions. All my purchases arrive nicely packaged and quickly shipped.
You wont be disappointed with the fins or Leisure Pro.
Safe Diving.
JENNIFER G Sorry, I'm not sure. They are relatively heavy but have an arc between the foot bed and the fin.
I can say that out of the six pairs of fins I use, they are my favorite. They give a lot of propulsion for a little force.
BILLY N These are negative bouyancy. Work great, have been using them for two years and work awesome!
LARRY H Yes, they will sink like a stone
CHET T I'm sorry, but I guess I don't know the answer to your question. I assume they are neutral. But I can say that I love these fins. I've had other more expensive split fins in the past, but prefer these. They are effortless and provide good propulsion.
michael c Is this a negative weight fin?
TROY E This is assuming you want a fin that will allow you to go sans weight in a dry suit.
TROY E I've only used wet suits, so I haven't had to put weights on my ankles. That said, they are heavy, but I don't imagine that they'll fully compensate.
MARK C I actually bought the fins as a retirement gift for my police department partner, whom I have been dive buddies with as well for 30 years. He loves them. Effortless swimming and good propulsion. If i didn't already own three other sets of fins I would buy a pair for myself. Good luck and great diving, Mark C
ROYCE W I lost one once because it came off and sank slowly. I could not get to it fast enough and it was gone.
BERNARD B If you mean does it sink - yes.
michael c Is this fin negative weight?
For a size 9 boot was is the correct size fin?
MIKE W Yes it is a negative weight...
michael c is this a negative weight fin?
For a size 9 boot (6mml) which is a 41 International, what size fin should be ordered?
michael c i think size 9 is equal to a 42
Shopper Will a S-size fit if I wear a 37 shoe size? (international)
KRISTINA J I'm sorry, I don't know what size 37 converts to. I wear a ladies size 5-5 1/2 and the S-size fin fits fine when I'm wearing my boots.
CARLOS F I can't answer that question I am a # 44 shoe size. Sorry.
DANIEL Z When you say 37 International....do you mean EU 37? You also did not specify male or female. Finally, what kind of boot are you wearing? Soft sole or hard sole. The hard soles tend to be bigger and wider. I wear a size 40 EU in men's soft sole boot. The medium size fin fits me fine, if a little loose....and it fits me in a hard sole also and not so loose. If you are a female size 37 wearing a soft sole boot, the small should fit you. If you are a male wearing a hard sole size 37...it's going to be a close call with the small.
Shopper I wear size 43 international with a 3mm swimsuit boots what size should I get Medium or XL ?
CRAIG B Try the Medium. I wear a medium-large fin for a size 43 European
CRAIG B Go with the XL because I wear a 41 international and that is what size fits me
george g I'm also really confused with the European to US size conversion, half of the sites say EU 43 is a US 12 and half of the sites say EU 43 is US 10 ..
george g If I buy a 11 size boot will it fit nicely to a medium sized fin ?
george g I can only select small medium and extra large dimensions no ML available here.. so you think that a medium would suit my feet? I don't want them to be too tight but if they are loose it's worse..
DYLAN S There's a M-L. It will fit you just fine.
Shopper how big of a person would require the x-tra large ?
JOHN S. C I believe that the sizes go by foot size, not body size, I am a size 12 and the XL fits me just fine. They are a nice fin!
CRAIG B If your foot is size 11 or bigger I would get the xtra large. This is what I use with my size 11 boot and it fits great
VITALY L It is all dependent on your shoe size.
JAMES C I wear a 14-16 size shoe and I use the XL fins. They fit me perfectly. Additonally, I have used the same set of fins for over 5 years and for well over a 1000 dives and I still haven't even had to replace the heel strap yet! A great product that has held up to everything I have thrown at it. Hope this helps.
STEVEN M I'm 6'2" and 200lbs and I have the large. Hope that helps. I love my Tusa fins, hope you will too.
JAMES P I think the criterion is shoe size, not body size per se. I bought these fins after I got new Henderson booties that turned-out to be too big for the Scubapro jet fins I used for about 30 years (!!!). I guessed at the size with the understanding that I could return them if the size were wrong. So, take a guess and see how they fit with the booties you intend to use (or not use if you are a warm-water diver). Good luck and happy diving.

KIM J I wear a size 7 1/2 and I have the size small. My daughter wears a size 8 and also has the small. I think it is all based on shoe size and if you wear a size 12 or higher you would probably want the extra large.
JOANNE Y Sorry, can't answer that...I love mine, but I have size small. Why don't you look at the Tusa size suggestions..I think shoe size is the best way to decide.
TOM A the fins are all the same size only the foot pocket changes.
I wear size 12 booties and my wife has a high arch that required xl fins to fit a size 6 bootie.
try them on at a dive shop, then order from here
DANE S I usually wear a 12EEEE or 13EEEE sized shoe but could probably wear one size lower. I usually have them completely tightened around my boots when swimming.
Tom G I where an 11-11.5 Mens shoe, and have a naroow foot.
My wife wears a 10 womens, regular.
What size fins would you recomend?
What type and size of boots?
Primarily for snorkeling.
NESTOR A i would recomend that you go to a dive shop to get the size of the boot becouse the have to fit like a second skinn and with the size buy the boot that you like in leasure pro becouse they are cheaper, and do the same for the fins
i have use this type of fins for about 4 years now and i have over 150 dives using the fins, they are verry contruble and i haven't had any problems with them, and they are adjustible to many sizes
PETER M I wear a size 13 and purchased the XL fins. I always wear water shoes and the fins do fit but they are still slightly large. I am not sure what size you would need.
The fins are excellent and work great in strong currents.
DYLAN S I wear a mens 9.5-10 shoe, with a wide foot. The M-L fit on almost the tightest setting just fine, with ankle or above ankle 3mm booties. M-L would probably fit comfortably up to about a 12 in 3mm soft booties or an 11 with thick soled 5mm booties, but think soles may be a bit too big. For ladies, I'd go down the the XS-S. The M-L would be too big.
Very comfortable, excellent power. Love these fins, and have had them for years.
JUAN S Hi!
I have 14 mens shoes size and i think regular narrow. The size of my Tusa X-Pert Open Split Fins are the XL ones, and works perfect for my size and narrow with a 5mm boot. Just for only snorkeling i?ll recommend you 2/3mm boots of your size and with your 11.5 you should be between M and L fins. You should try one of them.
Best fins ever! enjoy them
Shopper What is the weight of these fins?
michael c Are these fins negative buoyancy?
LeisurePro S The Tusa X-Pert zoom fins weigh approx. 2.5 pounds.
Shopper My shoes size is a US-8. What size boot should I order to go along with this fin? Tell me boot size and thickness as well.
LeisurePro S I would recommend a size 8 boot--thickness depends on how cold of water you'll be diving in. A 3mm boot is good for the tropics, 5mm or 7mm for colder waters (5mm is a pretty good choice that will cover a wide range of temperatures).
Shopper Would these fins in small fit a boot in a size 6 ?
LeisurePro S Yes, I would recommend a small.
Shopper I have a size 13 in boots that are 7mm. What size fin should I get?
LeisurePro S I would recommend the XLarge.
Shopper What size is suggested for this product as I wear a 11.5 US shoe?
LeisurePro S I would recommend a medium.
Shopper What is the length of the mens medium?
Shopper I have a question about the SF-8 open heel fins. I wear a men's size 8.5 shoe and wonder whether my foot would fit without dive boots or is the size based on wearing no boots. The Tusa MEDIUM is my size range but I wonder about the fit with and without boots if I order that size.
LeisurePro S The sizes in these fins are based on wearing a standard 5 or 6mm dive boot, In this case you would fall right into a medium. Without a boot I would say you would be between a small and a medium, but I would highly recommend wearing dive boots with fins like this as that is what they are designed for and it will be much more comfortable.

When using the standard, flat fin, propulsion is inhibited solely by fault of design. When the leg is completely extended, there remains an angle of 27 degrees between the heel of the foot and the calf of the leg. This 27-degree angle causes 10% of the propulsion that is produced by the kicking motion to be lost. Because the fin is angled below the body, during the kick phase, the body is pushed up and forward, instead of straight ahead. With a normal flat fin, 10% of the diver exertion to propel him forward is lost by battling this upward force. With the TUSA X-PERTZOOM FIN, that 27-degree angle has been incorporated into the fin. This means that when the leg is fully extended, even though the angle exists between the foot and calf, the fin ends up parallel to the leg. This means that 100% of the energy expended during the kicking phase is directed toward the propulsion of the diver.
- Innovative hydrofoil design that produces forward motion (lift) with less effort
- New age elastic material with rigid reinforced double layered construction
- Propeller-fin technology provides the ultimate performance & comfort
- Angled design for maximum kick efficiency
