Tried these snorkeling a few times and I found them good, but more effective for scuba diving. Great propulsion!

I enjoy these fins but there are a few things that you should realize before buying them.- The tips droop a bit and when you giant stride you have to REALLY concentrate on keeping that leading fin tip up or you run the risk of a face plant.- These are fairly stiff fins and will propel you very efficiently thru the water with a scissors kick. They will not work well with a bicycle or flutter kick. This is not a flaw in their design, but rather just a result of their design. - Because of the two factors listed above, I find it much easier to perform surface swims with these fins while on my back. The trade off is better propulsion while actually diving. - I would not recommend these fins for snorking unless you have no other choice.
Stiff Fins

About Me Beginner
These fins are very efficient. They are also very stiff. I guess the two go hand in hand. To be comfortable in these you have to strap them on very tight or you will end up with foot cramps. After my first dives with them I realized this. You have to stretch the rubber straps to the limit so I recommend replacing the straps Because I know mine are going to break. they are also a little loose which probably made the problem worse. Do not flutter kick in these. Also these are no good for snorkeling on the surface. They require long slow kicks to be most effective.
Very Nice Fins!

I like these fins very much!OK, so here's the scoop...yes, I've tried the split-fins and yes they are very comfortable, allow you to flutter kick instead of scissor kick, and require less energy to use. But, they only work well in calm, easy, very recreational diving. If you dive with any extra or heavy equipment, or dive in areas with surge or currents, you will want the stiffer full fins.I'm a 9 in a boot and I purchased the M/L fins. They fit my boot snuggly and are very comfortable all the time. These fins generate a lot of power and propel my larger 200+ lbs. frame through the water very efficiently. If you have a flutter or bycycle style kick then I'd probably recommend passing on these fins. But if you have a regular, scissor style kick then these fins will work very well for you.
