Comments about Sherwood Blizzard 1st Stage Only:

The new reg worked fine after having my local dive shop replace the HP seat. Beware of the "new" regulators that leisure pro sells you as they may have been on the shelf or a few years. After the repair the reg is very nice. I went to 117' and was breathing just fine.

Service and delivery comments:

The reg did not arrive in good condition. The high pressure seat was cracked and needed to be replaced by my local dive shop.

Comments about Sherwood Blizzard 1st Stage Only:

I am a technical diver. All of the regulators I use are Sherwood. This was purchased to be the regulator for my second post on my double rig. I regularly do decomplression, and nitrox diving, and this unit has functioned flawlessly.

Comments about Sherwood Blizzard 1st Stage Only:

This design lets a slight flow of bubbles escape by a tiny valve so dirt won't enter the 1st stage. Knowing this, you don't want to set this regulator on your tank and leave it with valve open for a few hours, because you'll loose a bit of pressure by then. DON'T GET ME WRONG, IT'S A GREAT DESIGN but just so you know...

Also, I guess you'll be buying a 2nd stage to put with this 1st stage, right? Make sure they're ajusted to one another, by a tech: otherwise, if the 1st stage might let just a bit too much pressure get towards the 2nd stage and cause a freeflow. I had mine reduced from 150 PSI to 140 PSI and now the 2nd stages work fine with it. So, you'd better recalculate with a few more dollars and a trip to a dive store ;o)

I purchased this regulator to complete a set of regulators for my doubles. I dive in the very cold water of the Great Lakes, and over the cousre of several years I have seen most major regulator brands free flow. I have never had a single problem nor witnessed a single free flow with the Sherwood Blizzard regulators.
