LeisurePro S This has a user replaceable battery. This does not have a mineral crystal cover. Suunto's D4, D6, D9 and Stinger all have the mineral crystal display.
Shopper Is the Suunto Vyper 2 Air/Nitrox Wrist Computer water activated?
LeisurePro S Yes, the Vyper 2 has water activation.
Shopper Does the Vyper 2 record the dive profile?
LeisurePro S Yes, this records all dive profile information up to 42 hours of diving. All the information came be downloaded to a PC and viewed with Suunto Dive Manager.
Shopper Is there a way to download your dive history to a laptop or desktop computer?
LeisurePro S Yes, you can purchase the download kit for the Vyper 2 here.
Shopper Can this unit be used with the remote transmitter to monitor tank psi or is there a different Vyper for use with the remote transmitter?
LeisurePro S The Vyper 2 is not air integrated. Check out the Vyper Air which is.
Shopper Does this computer also track your tank's psi?
LeisurePro S No, this computer does not track psi. For that you will need to look for a computer that is programmed for and comes with a transmitter piece that screws into your regulator's first stage.
Shopper I see that the vyper2 does everything that a D6 would do, what is the difference between them?
LeisurePro S The main difference is that the Vyper2 has the built in dive simulator which allows you to visualize/track a whole day of diving in advance without having to be at you computer with your software.
Shopper The altitude adjustment: does that only calculate altitude diving? Or does it have an altimeter?
LeisurePro S The Sunnto Vyper 2 doesn't have a constant altimeter function, just an adjustment feature for altitude diving.
Shopper Does the Vyper2 have a separated battery compartment? Do you need a special tool to replace the battery?
LeisurePro S All you need to replace the battery is a small screwdriver to unscrew the panel in the back. If you would like to read more details, here is a digital copy of the manual.

LeisurePro S The Vyper2 can be set by the user to display either metric or imperial measurement.
Shopper Does the Vyper2 also tell time (12 or 24hrs) ?
LeisurePro S Yes, there is a calander clock that can be set to either 12 or 24 hours.
Shopper Does the vyper/vyper2 tell surface temp as well as water?
LeisurePro S Yes, when you come up to about two feet, your dive display is replaced by a surface display which includes current temperature.

LeisurePro S The battery lasts an average of about three years. The computer has a on screen battery indicator as well as a low-battery audible alarm.

To the developers at Suunto, diver safety is paramount. That is why they developed the Reduced Gradient Bubble Model (RGBM), which predicts how gasses will be absorbed into the diver's body based on the progress of the dive. By tracking and predicting this absorption rate, the Vyper 2 can stay on top of decompression requirements, as well as repetitive dive calculations and rapid ascent situations.
Right out of the box, the Vyper 2 can log and store 80 hours of dive time. With a little adjusting, it can store up to 240 hours of logs. Just think of how many dives you can carry around on your wrist with this computer!
