This is the best wrist compass and a wrist compass is more accurate than a console as you can hold it in a repeatable position. When looking at a compass on a console it is difficult to impossible to hold it in the same orientation every time even the height that you mount the cylinder will affect the result as you have more or less hose so the console will sit at a slightly differant angle this means you will read a differing heading almost everytime. But with a wrist compass it you have the compass on your Left arm and take bearings when holding your right elbow you will be able to replicate the same possition every time.

I love the compass, it is easy to read in all conditions and isn't "picky" about being exactly level.I absolutely HATE the band though... Instead of using a buckle, it uses a fiddly "poke through the holes" setup which is REALLY hard to do one handed, especially when diving in cold weather and the rubber gets hard... this is one of the last things you put on, so basically you are pretty well geared up when putting it on, and fiddling with a band for 5 minutes to get it on is about the LAST thing I want to be doing.I am past the time where I can return it, so I am going to keep it until I can find a better band and then sell it [...].

I purchased this for safety when snorkeling at night or in foggy conditions. The compass performs as listed, however there is one feature that I find limiting. The directional markings on the rotating bezel are painted on, not etched, which means they can scrape off with wear and tear.
Best compass I have ever had.

Used it last weekend. I was spot on with navigation and the additional tilt ability is so much easier to work with then the usual compass that are offered out there.
Best investment!
