Questions about this item:
Chris M Does this unit come with a quick disconnect and download cable?
DANIELLE D yes it can, though I don't have one so I don't know how well it works. The download cable does not work with Windows 7; it kept crashing my computer and I read online that Suunto does not have a plan to fix it.
BRANDON O The one I purchased several years ago does not have a quick disconnect or a download cable. I purchased the cable later. The cable was expensive, about $75, but works for several Suunto computers.
KENNETH R Mine did not. I purchased one separately. Do you have software you are going to use or do you expect to use Suunto's. I personally like their older software better than the new version.

PATRICIA S I once had bought the quick disconnect, it was installed, worked for a bit, then seemed to leak air slowly. I was told it was an "O" ring problem, and that there wasn't a way to fix the "O" ring issue. I opted to then put it back the way it was....take off the quick disconnect. I'd suggest the online class now available.
ZEN S No the cable comes with the CD purchased seperately, as far as the disconnect, mine is set up on a hose with no fitting at all for disconnection, its now part of my regulator set up.
ANTHONY L No, the cable and program have to be purchased separately.
Eric F How many dives will the Cobra store?
DANIELLE D It will store up to 99 dives, then start replacing the oldest ones with newer dives. When I bought my computer, I had to on online to download the instruction manual since the instructions that came with the computer were in Swedish. hope this helps.
Eric F Thank you very much! Sounds like a very nice piece of gear.
RYAN K According to the manual, the dive logbook "memory will retain approximately the last 42 hours of dive time. After that, when new dives are added, the oldest dives are deleted. The contents of the memory will remain when the battery is changed." It then mentions in the dive history section that "The Dive History Memory can hold a maximum of 999 dives and 999 diving hours. When these maximum values are reached, the counters will start again from zero."
I've had this computer for 3 and a half years now and have just a little over 100 dives on it. They have worked great thus far! I haven't found it an issue reaching the limit myself, but the manual makes it sound like it does store quite a bit. If it is not enough (or even if it is) and you are considering this computer, I would suggest looking into getting the PC interface cable. It offers a great way to see your dive profiles as well as an easy way of backing up your dives to your computer.
Eric F Thanks for the comprehensive answer. I will definitely buy the PC interface. In fact, the reason I am buying a new dive computer is because my old Genesis React Pro will no longer transfer dives to my PC, and Genesis will not service a computer more than 2 years old. Good excuse to upgrade!
KENNETH R Eric
I have more than 50 dives on my computer. They seem to be stored in latest to oldest order.
Haven't quite figured out how to delete the old dives.
BTW great computer, not complaints and works like a charm
Ken
Eric F Thank you. The information will be very helpful in choosing a new computer.
ZEN S I believe 99 or 100, Im not certain on that though. I have about75 stored in mine now, and used their dive manager disc to download the info from them.
Eric F Thank you! Sounds like a good choice for me. I usually do about 30 dives when I go to Belize. They should all be on the computer when I get back.
Shopper Im from New Zealand where we measure in 'bar' and 'meters', does the Cobra recognize these measurements.
LeisurePro S Yes, You can switch very easily between metric and imperial.
Warranty Information
This product has a limited warranty of 24 months.
Whats in the box:Computer, Compass, HP Hose, Digital Online Class Suunto Cobra combines several technological innovations into one product. It is the only air-integrated dive computer with air, Nitrox, and gauge modes complete with profile memory on the market. In addition to the extensive information provided by the Vyper, the Cobra displays cylinder pressure and estimated remaining air time. The air-consumption of a dive is stored as a used-pressure value in the logbook memory for future reference. The Cobra offers the new Suunto Reduced Gradient Bubble Model (RGBM), which is a unique algorithm for predicting both dissolved and free gas in the blood and tissues of divers. This development combines the latest knowledge in diving technology with the classic Haldane model. The advantage of the RGBM is its ability to adapt to a wide variety of diving situations. For added safety, the Cobra features the original Suunto innovation: separate three-step personal and altitude adjustments. The SK-7 has set a new standard for dive compasses. The superior SK-7 features an exceptional tilt potential of +/- 30 degrees, which is 2-3 times larger than in conventional diving compasses, easy-to-read numerals on a phosphorescent compass card and a large side-reading window. The firm-grip bezel with a ratchetat every fifth degree is especially designed to prevent sand and dirt contamination, thus allowing smooth turning in all conditions.
