I had the legacy Cobra for about 5 years before the depth sensor went bad and I decided to replace it with the Cobra 3. The compass was a little tricky at first. Note - Do NOT use a regular wet compass in conjunction with the electronic compass. It is extremely sensitive and the magnet in the wet compass will throw off the electronic one's reading. Took a couple tries to get the compass calibration done. On the first outing, it started off working fine, but during the second portion of the dive, the compass seemed to be stuck between E and NE, only showing a turn of about 15 degrees when going in a complete circle. Later that night tried it again and it worked ok. Taken it out on several dives since with no problems.Other than that, it's been extremely easy to use, so long as you actually read the instruction manual that comes with it, which surprisingly enough, explains the functions. A couple of the wordings that are in the extreme bottom of the screen can be difficult to read due to being so close to the edge of the face protector, but by changing the viewing angle a little, this is easily solved. All in all I'm confident this will be another great investment.

About Me Professional
Comments about Aqualung Suunto Cobra 3 Air/Nitrox Air Integrated Computer Console with Electronic 3D Compass, Quick Disconnect Hose:
Spent a week in Cozumel right after I purchased this. I used the 50% RGBM. It worked great and was similar in dive times/No Decompression times as other computers. I had a variety of computers to compare with my friends I was diving with. We all had very similar data. The 50% RGBM is a great improvement for the Suunto Cobra 3 if you want a less liberal computer. Depth seemed to be accurate within 1ft. of all other computers in my party. I say this because some have their computers at chest level, while others have theirs at waist level. The quick disconnect is a great feature, especially if you need to remove your computer to keep it out of the sun. I don't like to keep my computer in the sun for extended periods of time, so it is easier to just remove it temporarily without removing your complete rig from your tank. After I was able to purchase the download cable, the data was a smooth transition from the Cobra 3 to my laptop for a more indepth look at the dive data.

TABLES WAY TO CONSERVATIVE

About Me Advanced
The tables used are way to Conservative. We have a Sherwood Wisdom that is easier to read & operate. not as many functions. Using them side by side on 22 Dives in Bonaire the Suunto went in to a decompression mode way to soon. Then it would not let me dive in the AIR mode until it was out of the water for 24 hours. The Wisdom said we were fine. We keep diving for 4 days after that with no problems using the Wisdom as the reference & computer. If you want the Computer to cut your diving SHORT Buy the Suunto. Not for me. We dive 3-4 dives a day. The Suunto said no fly for 18 hours longer than the Wisdom. We flew a 6 hours flight & were home for 6 Hours before the Suunto said we could fly.
