GERALD N Yes, in my opinion. It is perhaps more bouyant than some models, but I find this desirable. You can adjust for bouyancy by placing your hands nearer the rear of the board as you improve your kick.

ANGELA W yes this is the standard size kickboard! This is the standard size that all swim teams use. So this is the one you want to get! It will last you a long time too!

ANGELA W I dont think snorkeling would be fun with any type of floating device. But if you think you need one then the guys are right....DO NOT buy the kickboard and definetly get a life jacket or belt. That way you can always have your hands free and you can float with your head in the water to snorkel.

GREGORY H No, I would not recommend this for keeping your upper body afloat! A kick board is really only good for swimming laps so you don't have to use your arms, and can isolate your legs. I definitely, definitely tried laying on it when I got tired and I sank quite easily! When I used this often for training, I weighed maybe around 10 lbs more than you. Look into getting a small, blow-up life vest instead. Those are much better suited and more buoyant for a "lazy" sport like snorkeling. (...where lazy means you don't have to kick very quickly or tread water to stay afloat) ;)

BEN Z I do not think the board would support more than about 20 lbs when used for flotation . You are better off with a life jacket as opposed to a kickboard.
