MICHAEL K IT does come apart but I have never done that. Be careful with this raft it is extremely fragile. I purchased two of these floats and had to send them both back. One had a hole in it by the plastic chip dishes as soon as I opened it, and the other one popped when I used it in the water one time. It is extemely fun while it lasts and worth the cheaper price. I wish they made a canvas cover for it.

MICHAEL K Its about 50 lbs. Make sure to check along the chip dishes for leaks. It seems most of the leaks come from there. Other than that this float is great for the price just make sure to have patches ready because it tears easily.

KELLEN M Yes I use it for only river floating, and it's perfect because its very durable. However after 3 uses last summer the screening began to tare in one corner, after the 5 use I had to pull the whole bottom screening off because it just got worse and worse. My friends have the same one and use it for bay floating, same problem.

MICHAEL K I wouldn't recommend it especially if it might bump some rocks on the bottom of the river. Its not very thick rubber. Definitely ideal for a lake.

MICHAEL N As long as you don't poke a hole in it. I anchor it in the surf and everyone uses it so it's pretty tough. Heavier guage stuff than a pool float.

Marilyn S This is not durable enough for going down a river. It's really meant for sitting on a calm lake.
