I purchased this product to hopefully find an easier solution but not so, You have to be careful to choose the proper depth range for the best color settings and changing it while in progress is not straight forward. The hesitation on the camera makes it really difficult to take pictures of things in motion because you have no clue when the camera is going to actually shoot. Now for my last comment, that the camera eats batteries… did not get through two dives on a set of batteries ever…

On the plus side I'll probably give it a try on my boat as a point and shoot this summer that won't be bothered if it gets a splash or two on it…

Good Luck on one if you decide to buy it but I would never purchase this camera again!

Especially liked the fact that camera did not need an additional case and did not float away. Easy to use above and below the water.

This is my second Mini II in a month. It behaved exactly as the first one I returned. This one is on it's way back too now. While the photo quality is dismal compared to the inexpensive Olympus point-and-shoot submersible I've used in the past, the video quality is downright ridiculous. It plays back choppy, seemingly accelerating every half-second for about a tenth of a second. It doesn't matter what type of battery or SD card is used - I've tried various combinations on both of the SeaLife Mini II's I've briefly owned. The results were the same. Do not use this camera for video, either above or below the surface.

RE: the battery life - You're pressing your luck every time you turn the camera on. I would have been happy to get even 50 photos on a set of fresh alkalines. But all I got was a lousy 14 choppy seconds of video of the sand falls and then nothing. I missed capturing a 5 inch seahorse, a shark, two eels and a sea lion that came within a foot of my face. I am very disappointed that I could not capture these encounters on my dive trip.

Nice size great if you do not want to have your camera in your way. You have to be 2 to 4 feet away when using the macro setting, better zoom would have been great. Over all with a little practice it takes great pictures of me and my dive buddies.

Please look elsewhere for a dive camera. I bought this thinking it was good; it is not. The photos are blurry, it will focus on the nearest bubble and NOT what you want to take a picture of. The camera EATS batteries; and is not reliable for battery power. You need to replace them after a two tank dive; I missed a lot of good shot of mantas because I thought I had good power.

You might get 1 or 2 good pictures from a dive but for the most part they are blurry junk shots.
