I was surprised that this item did not have a velcro strap for securing it to your wrist. The lanyard also doubles as the wrist securing device with only a push button slider. This slider is so weak that it is easy to loosen the wrist strap just by shaking your hand. I would not recommend this as a secure strap for holding your camera.
