Haven'tI upgraded from the DC1200. What a difference. This camera is AWSOME. Underwater pictures are remarkable. I just got it before 4 dives in south Florida. My rig uses the Sea Dragon SL963 flash, Sea Dragon 2000 LED Video light, and I also upgraded to the SL963 Fisheye lens. This combo is easy to use, easy to carry with a good underwater strap, and pretty light weight. So much to learn with the new Camera yet, but my first sets of pictures are VERY detailed. Questions & Answers

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Is this waterproof?
Douglas A  Yes, awesome n easy to use camera.
JACQUELINE D  Yes, the housing is nice & tight. No worries.
PAUL M  Yes, The housing in the picture and the camera which you place inside are waterproof. Since I purchased it I spent a week in Roatan diving and snorkelling, 4 different week trips to Belize where I used it diving, snorkelling and caving(camera only). It's easy to use and I may buy another one as a backup. It takes great pictures.
JUSTIN T  Yes, it is waterproof. The Camera Depth Rating is 60 feet (18 meters) and when the camera is inside the included case/housing the Depth Rating is 200 feet (60 meters).
Warren D  How well does it work for shoot out of the water ?  Looking at it for boating and some diving and shooting when it's raining out.
Douglas A  Works great. When on trips it keeps the amount of gear down. With macro shooting be sure to get an external light. I’ve been very satisfied with my sealife.
PAUL M  I have taken pictures caving in Belize as well as land pictures. It works great, however its small profile and large lens one needs to be careful as it easily will slip out of your hands, I'm a bit clumsy.I love the camera underwater which is my new fetish.
JACQUELINE D  Works great out of water.
BOB C  does the sealife sl740 dc2000 come with a housing for 60m depth rating or is the housing bought separately?
Mario C  Thank you for question. Housing is included.
Paula S  Can I connect my phone to this camera and take pictures using the phone while the camera is a distant away??
Mario C  thank you for your question and answers. The SeaLife SL740 DC2000 uses the app called Link123 that allows for image transfer. "WiFi to wirelessly preview, download and share pictures/videos to smart phone or tablet with free Link123 Plus app. Includes Geotagging and “Auto Send” functionality." The remote trigger can be found on the micro model: https://www.leisurepro.com/p-slfsl512/sealife-sl512-micro-20-wi-fi-64gb-uw-camera "The Micro 2.0’s built-in WiFi feature wirelessly connects the camera to any iOS and Android smart phone or tablet using the free SeaLife Micro Cam app, eliminating the need to travel with a laptop computer. You can preview and download pictures/videos from the camera to your smart device and instantly share your diving adventure with friends and family. Additionally, the app allows for remote control of the Micro 2.0 camera, providing a live view of the display and the ability to capture and review photos and videos all on your smartphone or tablet." - https://www.sealife-cameras.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/05/Micro-2.0-Cameras.pdf
MARY H  Yes, you can when logged into the app.
Thomas M  No, you can't take pictures from your phone with this. You can send them to your phone I believe.
TERRY J  Yes, it has a remote in feature that allows a mobile device (phone or tablet) to control the device.
THOMAS G  No - connectivity is only for image transfer.
john h  Have to be in reach of the wi-fi but yes. Do download all my pictures from the camera from Wi-fi.
William H  My son and I found that the camera, by itself is better than the phone camera. We both took pictures in and out of the water which included long distance pictures and the camera did a better job. This is a high tech camera that happens to shoot underwater with great color and clarity.
SCOTT C  will the camera shoot in burst mode underwater? If so what are the steps to get to this setting?
William H  Enter aYes but in a non-standard way. Burst mode is only available in the Scene mode (as opposed to Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, or Underwater modes). This is the mode that lets you do special effects like color filtration, dawn/dusk scene, night-sky scene, time-lapse and the so on. The burst is more of a subset of video mode, by taking stills out of a video and deleting the non-saved frames, rather than a true still shot with the shutter opening & closing between shots. Pasted below is an excerpt from the manual describing the different burst modes. n answer to this question.
JEFF H  The answer to this is no. A way around this is to shoot underwater video in the highest setting (1060) 60 fps. Use good video editing software and pull a snapshot of your image. OR ,if you have great underwater lighting, try using a land mode sport setting. Use burst in that setting. My experience has been lower quality Images.
SCOTT C  thanks
William H  Yes the camera shoots in burst but my son took a class on the camera and I personally don't know. The camera is fantastic with clarity and easy. Have taken pumpkin carving pictures underwater while a school of stripped base came by. Water was murky but the detail on the fish was good. The video is great and even I could work the shooting. This was a gift for my son's birthday so he could film in the Grand Caymonds. He gained a lot of helpful training from a camera class and I would recommend the time and money to do this. This camera has clarity his other good camera doesn't. He shot a crayfish at 6 inches and the detail was unbelievable. Love this camera and it is worth the money. I will have my son contact you with the burst mode information. Bill
