Shopper I currently have an underwater digital camera. On our last snorkelling holiday in Fiji I had trouble seeing the lens underwater, hence was not able to see what photos I was taking. Does this camera have a good display screen underwater?
DIANNE C I have just used the camera on a 10 day dive trip and had no problems with seeing the display, I do have cheaters in my mask due to near sightedness, the only problem I had was with the flash flooding. I still do not know why it happened, be extremely careful locking the housing and water test it in a tank before diving with it.
BLAIR A Yes, it is quite bright and way better than my olympus with case (that gives me the same issues as yours). I've been very happy with it.
MIKE B Very good display screen. The piano keys area an excellent feature. Love the system!!
MICHAEL C The display is awesome and you can actually review photos after you took them if you want to - I highly suggest it!
MARJORIE H Yes, it's a great camera. The display is large and you can easily see the pictures you're taking and review them. What I found disappointing was the delay/time I had to wait before I could take the next shot. I wish I could have the speed of my Nikon D7000, but then there is a huge price difference between the cameras, LOL. Still My Sony DSC T300 compact camera has almost no wait time (I have an underwater body for it)
MARCIE S My previous camera was a different brand with the matching underwater case. It only had a 2 inch screen. It was a challenge.
I had no trouble with the view screen on the back of the camera and housing. I was able to easily see the composition of the photo I was taking. The actual results of the photos I got with this camera were immediately noticable.
MICHAEL S Yes. I have used the camera in very clear water at Curacao as well as in limited visibility water in a quarry, Lake Rawlings Virginia. The screen is large and very visible in all conditions.
GREGG R The LCD screen is big and bright. It is also well packaged in the case so that the case does not obstruct the view.
ARTHUR H I think it has a great screen display. I had mine in Roatan recently down to 107 ft and the display was clear and bright. I was very pleased!
CATHI C Yes it has a great view screen. I have found the pictures are better when I download of course but you get a good ptevieep of pics quickly to allow on the fly changes. The buttons and controls are very easy to use underwater. I love my camera
DAVID W Nice size screen, check info for specific size but easy to see. The window in the housing is a little larger so not to cover any of it up. The display is bright and able to be seen in all lights below and above the water. Buy and always have in the housing "Moisture Munchers" each capsole is good for 2-4 dives and keeps the screen clear of any fog. To be fair I have never tried it without the Moisture Munchers either.
BRENT D The Sealife DC1200 has a bright, clear display and takes excellent photos and video.
SUSAN A Yes and no. Yes, this is a wonderful camera and produces some beautiful clear, clean shots. It is the second one I have owned as a scuba diver. The viewing area is large with good visability. Do you have perfect views underwater with it at all times- no. The problem you are dealing with is most likely the light at or near the surface which reflects on the viewer. This can also happen sometime under the right conditions while diving. Getting the light above you may help such as going deeper and shooting from another angle. Don't know if this helps with your question or not. You will most likely find this or similar problems with any camera near the surface.
I can tell you that this is a wonderful camera and I couldn't live without it on my dives. Leisure Pro is also a great company to buy from and work with. Give it a try and I think you'll be happy with the results. Snorkeling with my other SeaLie camera is what got me hooked on diving a few years back!
CHRISTINE W The screen is larger than most but it depends on your environment - amount of sunlight, etc. but I've not had too much problem viewing what I'm shooting at u/w - plus I usually take several shots as it's hard to keep the fish from swimming :-) I've taken some great shots with this - but you need to get close so the colors show. Good luck!
STEPHEN F yes - very good - i have no problem editing the photos underwater

JOSEPH W If the reason you couldn't see the screen of your previous camera was due to your vision, I don't know if this or any camera will help you. If it was because the quality and size of the previous camera's display, then the answer is yes, you will like the display you have with this camera. I do have a hard time seeing without glasses, but can see good what the camera is looking at or has taken a picture of. Hope this helps?
BRANDON W Yes I have owned this camera a little bit over a year and the display screen is big and has crystal clear visibility to it.
ROBERT H yes in shallow water i have difficulty seeing on sunny day snorkeled in Half Moon Cave, Bam. Went to 15 feet But works scuba diving
LAUREN S I have the DC1200 and it is much improved from the D600 I had been using. I would love this camera to have a viewfinder, but it doesn't. the dispay is big..and under water I can usually see what I am trying to take a picture of. The only issue I have with the camera set up is the flash. when you manipulate it to get the right light angle to the shot...the flash head will come off the handle. It can be popped back on...but on my last night dive, I was unable to see well enough to get the cables out of the way and back on. I missed a fantastic shot of a octopus! Bad design on a wonderful camera. The buttons are much better than the 600. It takes great shots. Overall, I am very happy with the camera.
