manolis p WHICH REG. FIRST STAGE IS BETTER: MK25 TIS2 OR MK25 ?
DOUGLAS C I use the standard MK 25 and have had no problems. I am an Instructor using this equipement daily and am very satisfied.
STEVE C The TIS2 and the standard MK25 are the same except for additional freeze protection on the TIS2. If you plan to dry-suite dive down to 36 degrees F. then the TIS2 version is for you. If you are a warm water or standard wet suite diver like most of use the standard MK25/S600 will be fine. The standard MK25 is designed with features to reduce freeze-ups in all but the coldest weather.
HAROLD O The MK25/600 Reg is smooth easy breathing and is very reliable. I highly recommend this pair.

Kervin A What is the difference between this & the new chrome finished version?
Why is not specified if the MK25 is AF, TIS, UL, etc.?
NEUZA C The difference is almost imperceptible, but the new chrome finished is a little lighter and smaller.
manolis p Which Reg. do you choose ?
MK25/S600 or ATOMIC Z2
Thanks.
RICHARD D Sorry, I don't know the Z2, but you won't go wrong with the MK25. I've had mine for years and have about 100 dives with it. I have had no problems and I love quality of this unit.
ERIC H Hi. I bought the scubapro and really like it a lot. I'm pretty sure I'll never need another regulator and I dive frequently and deep. I havent tried any others though, so I can't offer comparison info.
Good luck.
manolis p How deep can you go with a Reg. Scubapro ?
Thank you.
MINA K Scubapro for SURE! I bought my first Scubapro regulator in 1986 which never never gave me any kind of problems. I sold it on eBay in 2007 which was still in perfect condition but to replace it with MK25/S600 only because I wanted lighter and smaller regulator for travel. The first stage is very light yet didn't sacrifice its performance. The second stage is compact and light so your jaw never get tired while you are diving with strong current. I dove Cocos Island and Galapagos Island with them and was very happy with this combo.
Scubapro is a pioneer of dive equipment, kept its superior qualitiy (Rolls Roys of the requlator) up to today. I don't work or sell Scubapro ;-) I strongly recommend MK25/S600 from my very positive experience.
DANIEL R They're both crap. Those first stages haven't evolved since the seventies. No innovation.
manolis p Which reg. do you recommend ?
MK25/S600 or MK/A700
And why ?
RUSSELL D I picked the S600 because of it's reliability but the A700 wasn't available at the time. Price difference isn't that much so it sounds like a toss up to me. However because the S600 has been around for quite a while.....
manolis p I have the MARES REBEL 12, it worked fine until the clean-service. Since then the noises never stops. Every one can here while I am diving. I do not feel fine with this regulator any more.
All divers recommend me to buy a SCUBAPRO !
Which one of the following regs. do you recommend:
MK2 PLUS/R295;
MK25/C300;
MK25/S600;
MK25/A700.
Which Octopus do you recommend:
R295;
R395;
I really appreciated your advice. I do not want to make another mistake ?
Brett H Manolis,
While it's most likely a totally fixable thing that's going on with your rebel 12 if you are looking to upgrade every one of the regs you are looking at is nice except the Mk2Plus/R295, and out of the whole list the nicest is the MK25/S600 and it is highly recommended. It will pair nicely with either octo you listed and I generally lean towards the 295 octo but either will work well.
Shopper Is this regulator good to use with Mares MV Octopus?
BOB R Sure is. The octopus attaches to the first stage using any of the available ports, so one could use any octopus with it, as far as I know. I personally use a Oceanatic octo that I've had for 10 years, no problems.
I love this reg. Only minor issue is having it adjusted properly so it doesn't free flow at surface. An easy adjustment. I've found this to be the case with most regs. Happy diving!
Bob
STEVE C This is one of the best regs on the market and will be fine to use with your Mares octo
MATTHEW B sorry for the delay but i just got off the Kamodo dancer. as for the reg ,I use a Cresse eclipes octo with mine and have had no problems.but as always when mix and matching gear i would give it a try befor taking it on a trip somewhere. the nice thing about Scubapro regs is they're used by most dive pros. so getting a fix in a foreign place should be easier.
JOSE R Hello Shopper,
I purchased this regulator a few years ago, and I have logged at least over 150+ dives with it. The regulator is fantastic, and in my opinion I don't think that you will regret your purchase if you decide to go along with my recommendation. The regulator performs extremely well for recreational use, and cave diving. The first stage is extremely well machined, and is light enough to travel if you dive overseas. The unit is paired with a high performance air balanced second stage which requires very little maintenance. I wish you the very best with your purchase. Your warm water Florida friend.

RUSSELL D I've used the Scubapro MK25/S600 Regulator for over a year now on a regular basis and have no problems with it. Although I don't have the Mares Octopus I don't see why you should have any issues with this combination....

MK25 First Stage The MK25 first stage offers a machined, marine-grade chrome plated body and balanced composite/stainless steel piston that would make any diver proud. It demonstrates SCUBAPRO's dedication to quality and creating positive diving experiences. This first stage adapts to external pressure changes and comes standard with the Thermal Insulating System (TIS), which keeps your first stage from freezing up and malfunctioning in cold water conditions. The MK25 has two high-pressure ports and five low-pressure ports.
S600 Second Stage Because of the S600's versatility, it can meet the diver's needs as frequently as the diver changes dive sites. The S600 is constructed of a chrome-plated brass and technopolymer valve housing, a linear air-balancing valve, and a top notch air-balancing system. This regulator's air-balanced linear-flow valve allows the diver to use less energy while breathing underwater; it makes breathing during a dive as simple as well, breathing in and out.
