Divers all agree that reliable regulators are key to the success of any dive. The MK25 first stage is SCUBAPRO's newest addition to a long line of unfailing performance. Its body is constructed of machined marine-grade chrome, has a chrome-plated brass body, and contains a new wound conical single stainless steel wire filter. The MK25 first stage can accept all types of SCUBAPRO second stages; it offers five high flow / low-pressure swivel ports and has dual high-pressure ports - this will quickly become one of your favorite pieces of dive equipment. In addition to using the newest in first stage technology, the MK25 is resistant to corrosion, which gives it a long lifespan and makes it an excellent value.
SCUBAPRO's proprietary design allows air to flow directly through the hollow interior of the piston shaft, rather than diverting incoming high pressure around the piston. This design delivers two significant performance advantages. First, the regulator can deliver a consistent air flow to the second stage regardless of changes in tank pressure because the piston is unaffected by increasing and decreasing pressure. Second, because this design creates a more direct path for air to travel, the MK25 is able to deliver significantly larger amounts of air with each breath, making breathing a less laborious task and increasing the diver's comfort. SCUBAPRO's S550 regulator is ideal for sport divers, diving classes, and any other divers who want a sound and comfortable second stage. The S550 has many sought-after features, including a lightweight and streamlined design, technopolymer body and components, air balanced linear-flow valve, a high-flow exhaust valve, and a mouthpiece that is comfortable and will reduce jaw fatigue. Additionally, the S550 has SCUBAPRO'S VIVA (Venturi-Initiated Vacuum Assist) system, which alleviates the effort divers put into breathing.
The Air-Balanced Linear-Flow Valve technology is based on SCUBAPRO's proven downstream linear valve design; this reduces the spring tension required to hold the flow valve closed and maintains sufficient pressure to allow for the safety of a downstream override. Basically, the spring tensions allows divers to exert less energy while breathing.
