MICHAEL F I wear a size 8 mens. With 7mm booties the XL are too big. They do fit with my drysuit boots.

PETER J The foot pocket is rather tight with five mil booties, I have men's size 10, 5mm boots and use the X-large fins. Size 8 should be good with the large though!
EUGENE T It depends on the type of booties. I wear a soft 9 bootie with the LG and I'm at the very upper limit for fit. A hard sole 9 won't fit. I've been using these for over 30 years and swear by them. There is a length difference between the LG & XL. I'm now 5'9" & 200 lbs. I've been using these since I was a kid rec diving thru, Army Ranger Combat Diver, and now as a Fire Dept Rescue Diver. I've been teaching Public Safety Diving and Swiftwater Rescue, to Police & Fire, for the last 15 years and highly recommend the LG's to those that will fit into them. A lot also depends on your kicking style. I teach a strict (Knees Locked) straight leg flutter kick. When you're towing a body or swimming in swiftwater you need thrust under a load and these deliver.

Greg E I wear a size 8 running shoe. I plan on getting size 8 men's aqualung ergo zip dive boot. I am torn between large or extra large. If I can fit into a xl will I have more propulsion? I do not mind if it requires more work as I an using them to workout on pack swims. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks.
MICHAEL T I believe your choice should either be a Medium or a Large as the Aqualung Ergo Zip Dive boot does not have a substantial sole. The larger size fin will only have a larger pocket size so it will not have propulsion. I would try to get the tighter fitting size which would be the Medium to eliminate any slop during kicking. Also, adding the optional spring straps makes it way easier to get on and off.
ALEX H My guess is that you will fit into a large just fine. I wear a large and I have size 11 boots. The xl's are designed for combat boots or if you plan on diving and getting out of the water with some heavy duty dive boot. You do not want to get the XL to try and get more propulsion. If it does not fit, you will lose any propulsion you think you were gaining by picking the larger size, because your foot will be sliding around and playing catch up with the rest of your body. Just dont do it. Stick with the large, if that is a little too big, go with a medium. However, these are awesome fins and will situ you well for workouts and speed.
Shopper I wear a women's shoe size seven, is the medium okay for me to use - I have been using US Diver's Rocket Fin in medium and I have neoprene scuba pro booties anyway- please let me know if this is the right size, since it says 9-10, i don't want it to be loose.
Also, which spring attachments are compatible with this product?
Lastly, does anyone know how much these fins weigh?

The fins are slightly heavy. EZ Spring Grip-Tight Fin Strap is good. They make taking off the fins so much easier and faster.
But the best fins are Scubapro Twin Jet Max Open Heel Split Fins!!
EUGENE T I wear a size 9 Okespor soft sole booties in a large Jet Fin and it?s at the very edge of comfort. These will feel heavier than your Rocket Fins. We have both on our Fire Dept Swiftwater & Dive Team. I?ve been using the Jet Fins for over 30 years. It?s my 1st choice for everything. Unlike most fins the large or below sizes are shorter than the XL and above. They do require a disciplined kick (Toes pointed, knees locked, using your hip flexors to kick) to get the most out of them. You will fly, even towing someone, with a good kick. If you kick at the knee they may not be the fins for you.

Are you using a larger scubapro boot or one of those flimsey ones? I know a person who is comfortable with using my old XL jet fins and she has small feet, but she was wearing a DUI drysuit boot. Maybe try a large size to see if thats the fit?
As for the springs, any spring attachment is perfectly fine as long as its the pin connector and not the clip. Good luck on the jetfins.

SANDRA O I put the spring back straps on mine and love them. I wouldn't trade these fins for anything else. Love them especially with the spring backs.

JAMISON B you definately need to wear dive boots with these. If you wear hard bottom boots a size Large is what you need. if you wear soft bottom boots you should try some on first. These are the best fins out there in my opinion.

BRETT G These are open heeled fins and therefore are made to be worn with booties. I wear a size ten shoe and use a size large Jet Fin and an XL for use with "rock boots" when I wear a drysuit. If you dont want to wear booties then use a closed toe fin. These however are the best fins on the market, especially when they are used with spring straps.
JOSEPH G I would suggest wearing booties. The toe area is pretty wide and leave a lot of wiggle room. However, I found when wearing booties, this fins fit like a glove.
KEN S These fins are designed to wear a bootie with but i suppose you could get away without.. But be aware because of the large size of them they may really dig into the back of your foot. I like to really move under water when scuba diving and these are the best i have found for that but not the most comfortable.
KEITH A I'd recommend to wear booties and get the XL jet fins. My shoe size is also 10 and dive with jet fins.
STEPHEN S You can, but it might be uncomfortable. The rubber, while relatively flexible, is stiffer and thicker than you would find on a full foot pocket fin. The straps are also pretty tough on the heels. would be best to invest in a lightweight bootie

The sizes are pretty accurate to the size recommendation information provided by ScubaPro. I didn't check, but you probably want a M or L.
You CAN wear them without a bootie, but because it's such tough rubber I'd at least wear a sock with them to prevent blistering. One exception is the XL size, which really is far too wide to wear without a boot.
Overall it's better with a bootie; it's not meant to be worn without one. But I have done it just fine with a sock.

EUGENE T I have always (30+ yrs) used the stock strap on these fins. I've found that when properly adjusted they work great. The 2 most common issues with fit, that I've seen, are boot/shoe mismatch and adjusting the strap too tight. Both lead to foot fatigue and/or cramping. I've found that a tight strap makes it difficult to get the strap over the heel and also leads to early failure. I'm assuming that why you're looking for a spring strap? If you do find a spring strap that works I would be interested in giving it a test run.

MICHAEL P Overall, jet fins are great for any type of diving where you properly use horizontal trim. The foot pockets are larger, which is nice for DUI Rock Boots or something similar. However, the primary thing I like about the Hollis fins is that the foot pockets are narrower. With nearly any dry suit or wet suit boots, I find that my feet fit better in the Hollis fins.
I own jet fins (multiple pairs) and have never had a single issue, so quality is great... Just that small complaint on size.
DARIN A The jet fins (with spring straps) are fantastic--durable, add a good amount of weight, great for frog kicking and backward kicking. My only con is that the foot pocket is tight on the tops of my feet.
Shopper I wear a size 11. My XL scubapro spit fins are extremly tight over my Bare Dry Suit rock boots. Would an XXL in the pro fins work?

LINDSAY A These are well made fins and comfortable with soft foam rubber booty type inner shoes. Keep in mind these are large fins and if your legs are not used to snorkeling, scuba diving, etc. you will tire quickly. Consider smaller fins for the beginner.
MICHAEL T I am also a size 11, but I use the DUI rock boots. The XL ScubaPro Jet fin was too small so I use the XXL. The XXL has a very large foot pocket so I end up with a bit of side to side and up and down movement. The extra movement doesn't bother me unless I have to kick fast. I am also using the ScubaPro spring straps.

Shopper Looking for fins with some positive buoyancy to trim my legs up. Does the Jet have positive buoyancy? In other search engines this one pops up when I search "positive buoyancy fins" but I don't see anything to confirm that.
JAMES J These fins have some weight to them and do not float. When I wear them my feet & legs sink under the water. This helps me dive down to the bottom and swim better across the surface but I would not consider them to have 'positive buoyancy' like some other cheaper snorkeling fins I have. Those other fins pretty much float and keep my feet on the surface while swimming.
RON H If by positive boyuancy you mean the fins float or will help keep you horizonal in the water, the answer is no. I have used jet fins since my first cert.
I have owned/used others as well. in the last 4 yrs the jet fin is the only fin I now own.(3 prs)

Fin or the Regular Twin Jet. It's the Max that are very buoyant. A bit pricey but it will do the trick for sure. Any chance your tank is too low in the BCD? These fins are heavy at 2lbs 9oz on average. But buoyant as can be.
CARL S These fins are not positive. In fact, that is why many older drysuit divers
use them. They are a rugged old school fin that does the job.
If you loose it...Its heading to the bottom.
BARRY A Scubapro Jet Fins are negative for buoyancy, you'll see a lot of technical divers use them for this feature because most of the time they are wearing dry suits.
Jeremie B I tried the jet fins in a store and surprisingly, there are 2 TYPE of jet fins. A normal type and a garage type. That's why when people try an XL, they feel it's too tite, and XXL (the garage size), they feel it's too big.
Basically, my question is : "Is your XXL pocket look the same SHAPE than the XL?" And I would like to have more photos to confirm that before buying the fin.

RAYMOND H the foot size is of course bigger, if you are looking at fin,the length is same but the place you put your foot is alot wider..very nice fins for fighting current, and they will last over 25 years, but they are very heavy,that is the only down part of these fins,weight......
geoff g i have a size 12 wide foot. i wear scubapro 5mil neoprene booties. i am real confused on the sizing for Jet fins based on everything i read.

JOHN B XL should be good for a size 12. From what I've seen on Jets the biggest problem is if your booties have a thick or wide sole on them. Hard sole booties probably won't fit.
All of this said, if you haven't used a Jet before you are going to be in for a serious workout. They provide a serious amount of power and control but your legs have to do the work. The XL has significant mass and surface area and unlike plastic fins, they are negatively buoyant. I would stay away from the XXL at all costs. It is about 3in longer and 1.5in wider than a medium and requires too much force to kick.

and get XXL now they fit perfect. But for I know resent SCUBAPRO add a size now You can chose between XL , XXL , XXXL when I bought my there was only XL ,and XXL My regular shoe size is 10.5 I try XL and I think they will fit ok.

Jean-David D If you use a tropical bootie you will be fine with the XL. I wear the same size and it works for me. I recommend the OMS fins unless you need the weight of a heavier fin. I have both and use my OMS much more that the Jets.

I would suggest the XXL.
I have a regular 10.5 size foot and with 5mm boots I found a large to be to small.
So with a 12 wide and boots, Id go with the XXL. You can't go wrong with leisure pro though, if it's the wrong size exchangeing it is quick and easy.

DAVID V If you are diving soft booties get XL Jetfins. If you are using hard sole booties or diving a dry suit get the XXL Jetfins. They have a large foot pocket to accomodate these. I wear XL (size 11-12) Oceanic hard sole boots and dive a Zeagle (Otter) TLS dry suit and they are very comfortable. Great fins, last a lifetime.
KENNETH H I got those fins and forget the size, but they didn't fit (they gave me some bad abrasions) but I couldn't return them. I'd recommend not getting fins by mail order.

NICHOLAS C Honestly it depends on your bootie...These jetfins are awesome but ensuring proper fit can be challenging. Most people wear XL but if you dive dry suits, you'll need XXL or the XL designed for dry suits.
VINCENT K Keep the slipstreams! Same exact fin b.ut half the weight as the jets. I have both nd use the Slipstreams only now. I had the jets.first. Why do you want the jets? Performance is the same between the two. Actually, I like the slips better!

JOHN B XL is as large as you want to go. I'd like to say it will fit, but that really depends on how big the sole is on your booties. If it's just a 5mm soft bootie/sock, you should be fine.

CHERRY H Our entire family uses these. I believe they are the best and we would not dive with anything else, That is because they give a lot of power to your kicking. True you need strong legs and these will build that. My husbands BCD would not work to put air into it at about 85 ft and he was able to kick back up to the surface because he had so much power to kick. That was worth a mint to us. right there. Also they are not so darn long and getting around things on the bottom is better, too.
On the down side, they are heavy when packing for airline trips but we would really miss them, so we take them.
MARK C My Scubapro XL Jet Fins weigh 3.4 lbs. (or 3 lbs, 6 oz) each.

I did not keep any of them the xl was to tight for the wetsuit boots and the xxl was way to big. They were made good but did not fit my Bear trilam boots at all as I remember. I would order two sizes and return the one that dosent fit. I have not herd that they have been updated I did like them but they just did not fit a size 10 foot bear wet suit boot at that time.

TRAVIS K They were to small for me, I wear 10.5's in street shoe sizes. I went with "turtle" brand fins instead. FYI my turtles fit with both my wetsuit and drysuit boots, these twin jets didn't fit with either boot.
JEFF K I wear a size 11 shoe and the XL fits great. Make sure you have the proper bootie to start. I've been diving with these fins weekly at the Denver Aquarium where they really take a beating. They're bullet proof and I highly recommend them.

LEWIS H Some times the best design is the original design. I first used this design in 1972. I've tried several "fashionable" designs over the years but for efficiency, nothing beats the ScubaPro Jet Fin. I have a pair that will, no doubt, out last me (if I don't lose them some how). The fin delivers the best output (thrust) per input (kick effort) of all other designs I have tried, IMHO. They are also the most maneuverable design I have used. The fins work best with a steel spring heel strap. On the contrary, they are negatively buoyant. And, on the dive, boat your fellow divers may percieve you to be way out of the fashion loop! ;-).
To answer your question, I would say "probably". Why don't you go down to the local dive shop with your 7 mil booties and strap on a set.
MARK K Honestly, no idea. I wear a size 9-1/2 street shoe, but with my drysuit boots I have to have the X-Large fins. With my regular dive boots the X-Large fins are comfortable to wear (and easier to get on/off than with the drysuit). I also replaced the straps with spring straps, that also help with getting the fins on/off in the drysuit.
DAN S Don't think it will as they take a small sole boot and not that thick bottom boot. Had to wear my blue reef non boot bottom booties. The fins are GREAT!

I'm pulling this from memory, but I think you basically have to break the old strap (I don't have it in front of me). You have to bend up the U-shaped metal piece so that the pin that goes through the solid part of the fin is freed, then squeeze on the new one with the spring straps. Does that make sense?
STEVEN S Bolt cutters or hacksaw
NATHANIEL K The easiest way to remove the old strap buckles is with a pair of channel-lock pliers. Close the pliers and put the closed jaws through the buckle. Then just pull the pliers open. They have plenty of leverage to pry the old buckles. Conveniently, channel-lock pliers are also the ideal tool for attaching the new spring-strap buckles (use a shop rag to protect the finish).
MARK M I just used a pair of pliers to basically bend the old retainer until it popped off the post then added the spring straps.
ERIC J It was a while ago, but I think I used clippers or wire cutters to cut off the strap bracket. I then put the spring strap brackets through the holes. The fact that I don't recall, leads me to believe it wasn't too difficult.
JOSEPH G It's been a while but I remember cutting the original metal clip off the jet fin. everything was fairly easy
PETER B I used a die grinder, like a Dremel to grind a rivet head off. With one leg free I could pry the attachment open and slide it out of the mounting lug of the fin.
A pair of pump pliers (like Channel Lock) worked good for cinching the new spring straps and it all worked out very well.
