DESCRIPTION

Whats in the box:Wrist Computer, Screen Protector and Owners Manual

Aladin 2G is a clear example of relentless developement. Engineered for technical divers who want specific features for total freedom in full safety, and for recreational divers who appreciate detailed, yet easily accessible information, but want the possibility to evolve in the sport. The ALADIN 2G combines this sophisticated algorithm with the compact size and accessibility of the Aladin family.

PDIS (Profile Dependent Intermediate Stops) optimizes your dive by calculating an intermediate stop based on how much nitrogen uptake your body has endured, taking into account your current dive, previous dives and breathing mixes. PDIS is a unique scientific application for safer technical and recreational diving.

Apnea mode with unique features specific to the science of Freediving, and separate logbook.

Gauge mode: operates as technical depth gauge to a depth of 394ft, with one-press stopwatch function. Unique in the diving industry, in this mode it displays a continuously updated average depth, which can be reset by the diver at any time.

Bookmark function during dive: highlight specific moments with a simple button press and add comments in the SmartTRAK profile later.

Altimeter: accurately measures altitude with a 50ft resolution. The altitude alarm (patent pending) alerts the diver when approaching an altitude incompatible with saturation status due to a recent dive.

Aladin 2G repeat fail: AVOID AT ALL COST

By Active Diver

from Santa Barbara, CA

About Me Professional

Verified Buyer

Pros

  • Easy To Operate
  • Replaced By Leisurepro

Cons

  • Buttons Not Good
  • Hard To Read
  • Replaced Multiple Times
  • Stops Working No Reason
  • Unreliable

Best Uses

  • Returning For Alternate

Comments about Scubapro Uwatec Aladin 2G Wrist Computer:

I would not recommend this product because I have had multiple replaced units fail in the same way. They just turn off. Replacing the battery does not bring them back. My second unit died after only a few dives on it.

Versatile computer for all my diving. Easy to set and navigate to thorugh menus. Moderate conservancy matches the Uwatec Nitrox Pro that I've used for 14 years. Ability to reset desat time and use gauge mode allow continued use in the event of a deco ceiling violation.

    Worthless with broken strap

Comments about Scubapro Uwatec Aladin 2G Wrist Computer:

Due to illnesses and injuries, I have only used this computer 62 times since purchasing it. Although it functioned well, the strap broke after dive 62, and I have not been able to find a replacement band that is not ridiculously expensive. Sure, I could carry it in my BC pocket, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having a wrist computer. MAJOR disappointment - especially since the Uwatec console I purchased in the mid 1990s is still going strong.

Comments about Scubapro Uwatec Aladin 2G Wrist Computer:

A friend recommended this to me after his Suunto D4 kept having issues. Taken this on over 30 dives now and haven't had any issues with it.

Two button operation is easy to navigate and remember. The display is big and clearly shows everything you need to know at one glance. It pretty much has every function you look for in a basic dive computer (log, planner, etc) plus some extras like going from 21-100% O2, gas switching, adjustable micro bubble settings (if you want to be more conservative) and profile dependent intermediate stops.

Take advantage of the free class. The manual is hard to read.

        The cons:
This computer is kind of bulky and the strap is way too long for me. I have tiny female wrists, and I have to set the strap at the very first hole!

Data can be uploaded through an infrared connection. Who still uses an IR connection these days??

Comments about Scubapro Uwatec Aladin 2G Wrist Computer:

This is a fantastic computer that offers most every function a diver needs. This computer will handle up to 100% O2 and allow for 2 gas switching during your dive (great for high O2 deco stops). The computer supports PDIS which is similar to deep stops on other computers but stops are calculated dynamically according to your profile. It has a dive planner, many alarms, manual gauge mode, logbook, a safety stop timer and is backlit. I have mine in a low profile bungee gauge mount from deep sea supply. This mount makes the Aladin a very low profile computer with depth compensating straps. This is really a top notch computer that is often overlooked.
