DESCRIPTION

Whats in the box:Light, Batteries, Wrist Lanyard and Owner's Manual

The SL6 is brighter than lights twice its length! The unique side-by-side battery configuration makes the 6 cell light only as long as a 3 cell light. Then bright, narrow penetrating beam of the SL6 makes it ideal for scanning the reef for marine life hiding under ledges. It can be uses as a main light for night diving or as the perfect backup light. Fits neatly in your BCD pocket, is equipped with a solid aluminum reflector, has a molded rubber bezel cover that reduces glare and protects the light. The SL6 is made from tough non-corroding ABS and polycarbonate plastic.

The SL6 8-Watt Xenon Lamp produces 204 Lumens of Brightness. The Rotary Switch is easily activated with the thumb and index finger for single hand operation. The Light is powered by 6 x C"-Cell Alkaline Batteries (included) with a Burn Time of 4 Hours. The light measures 8.7" x 2.46" x 1.63" (22 x 6 x 1.63 cm), weighs 24.5 oz (695 g) and is Depth Rated to 500' (152.4 meters). The SL6 is available in 3 color choices, includes an Owner's Manual, Adjustable Rubber Covered Wrist Lanyard and is proudly made in the USA.

This is a great light. High intensity in a compact design. 1st one was stolen, 2nd one I left the batteries in it over the winter and they exploded. This is my third one, its the only light I ever use. I have a larger 4d cell pistol grip type light but find this one to be brigher and more compact. Highly recommeded.

This light flooded entirely and ruined the bulb on first use. I had initially thought it was my fault - perhaps I hadn't screwed the light bulb onto the housing fully. I bought a replacement bulb (which cost 1/2 the cost of a new light) and tried it again. It seemed okay but after 3-4 dives, it flooded again. I can see now that the gasket is poorly manufactured so that it's twisted and can't be straightened. I'm going to trash this light now because it's not worth sinking more money into it. I also have a UK mini q40 eLED and it's equally bright to this light underwater. The SL6 isn't bright enough or reliable enough to be worth the frustration.

This light is rated to 500 feet. I have had mine down to 132 feet without any problems. I also have the SL4 which I keep in my BC pocket, both work great.

Comments about Underwater Kinetics Sunlight SL6 Dive Light:

For the [$] I paid, this light is a good deal. It emits a very natural, orange/yellow beam. The Good: focused beam, bright with fresh batteries, Seems pretty ruggedThe Not-so-good: the 6 C batteries make it slightly bulky, and they drain quickly. Switch doesn't lock so it can turn on in your gear bag.Overall: Not the brightest light I've used, but it's definitely works.

Comments about Underwater Kinetics Sunlight SL6 Dive Light:

The beam characteristics on this light are good. It's reasonably strong and penetrating. However my SL6 leaked on it's very first dive. Not a major flood, but enough to wet the insides. It was then necessary to pull it apart so I could polish the gunk off all the contacts in the battery compartment. This proved to be quite a trial. The torch is just not designed to be pulled apart, and getting those contacts back in place was unbelievably frustrating. To my mind this is a big fat fail. Gear that isn't field serviceable is simply future landfill. In other respects it's OK, but avoid this torch if field serviceability matters to you.
