The BCJ-3860 Evolution Platina BC is TUSA's most fully featured wrap-around style jacket. The Evolution Platina is ideal for any diver who desires a robust traditional style jacket. The BCJ-3860 offers TUSA patented features such as the Advanced Weight Loading System (A.W.L.S.), the Independent Harness System, and the Ultimate Stabilizing Harness. Additionally, the Evolution Platina incorporates TUSA's Waist Support System allowing for customizable shoulder/harness fit. Advanced weight loading system has evolved into a buckle type. Setting weight has become even easier than in conventional products. Naturally, the weight cartridge is easy to release in an emergency, but the safety lock makes sure that it is not released accidentally. Rear trim pockets combine with the A.W.L.S. to optimally balance the weight load. TUSA's Ultimate Stabilizing Harness completely eliminates tank roll and delivers an amazing fit.The U.S.H. securely holds the air cylinder in place with optimally placed rails and brings the tank closer to the body increasing tank control while reducing weight. The Waist Support System significantly enhances comfort and fit by dispersing the weight load around the hips. The W.S.S. integrates the adjustable shoulder harness system with the rear stabilizing plate and cummerbund to effectively unload the hips while ensuring a snug fit.

    Odd feeling BC

    I have used this BC for 20 warm water dives so far. It feels very bulky, and although big pockets are handy, the independent harness idea means the whole jacket seems to move around on you too much.

    The L/XL size was too big for me at 170 lbs and 6 foot. It's oversized. Might be fine for a bigger guy. I tried my wife's Selene on and it felt much better as it didn't move around as much underwater.

    Nice weight pockets, lots of fasteners, but quite heavy for travel. The backplate adds lots of weight. Nice inflater valve. Dump valve strings are a bit flimsy. No suitable knife attachment or flashlight pocket. Doesn't fold up well for travel so takes up too much space, unlike it's sister, the Selene.

    If you are a woman considering this BC, forget it.

    This jacket might work better if I had a thick heavy wetsuit or drysuit on and was diving locally.

      Good entry level BCD. I got this BCD for my 18 year old son. I have the Tusa Liberator, which I like a lot. Wanted to get him a similar BCD that used the same integrated weight system. Recently dove in Florida with a shorty over a full wet suit. Required 24 lbs of weight. Pockets easily accomodated the weight. There are 2 small back pockets plus the two integrated weight pockets. My son's weights fell out once, but he had failed to fully lock it in. Was a little difficult getting the pocket back in the BCD in 3-6' seas, but we managed ok. Would recommend.

        Great BC. A little on the heavier end like a couple other reviews said, but it makes up for it in all it's little features. Has clips and rings in all the right places, air-dump pull-strings, very secure weight-holding system (so you won't lose your weights), and a carrying/hanging-in-closet handle!

        I would recommend getting some ID-badge clips like the ones shown in the attached image though, as the inflate/deflate hose will dangle freely otherwise. These badge clips are amazing for holding it against your BC for streamlining, while at the same time NOT limiting its use and function.

          This is a great BC. I've read a lot about the weight and it doesn't seem to affect me at all. The price from leisure pro was great and I'm in the process of buying from them again.
