DESCRIPTION
The New Sherwood fins utilize the patented Optimal Pivot Blade (OPB) technology to increase kick efficiency, minimize fatigue and maximize acceleration. Effortless propulsion with optimum thrust. Effortless propulsion with optimum thrust. During the kick cycle the structure of traditional fins creates a limit to the angle of which the blade can flex. This limit allows only a small part of the fin blade to push water in the direction of the kick, while the remaining part pushes the water in the opposite direction, reducing the diver's forward thrust. The O.P.B. system causes the blade to flex at an optimal angle during both the upward and downward strokes. This optimal angle allows the majority of the blade to push a larger volume of water in the proper direction and greatly increase efficiency. All of the diver's kicking effort translates into positive thrust. Traditional fins produce lower levels of thrust at different points in the kicking cycle with substantial differences between the maximum and minimum values. The O.P.B. system produces optimal thrust throughout every phase of the kicking cycle, which minimizes fatigue and produces a more fluid movement through the water.

    Ok I just got my PADI card so Im a new diver but I found these fins very comfy and they moved me through the water with ease. I 5'9 220 so and the only problem I had was tring to keep from passing the class when I was in back. my instructor asked to try them and said he likes them better than his split fins. all in all im very pleased with the fins and the price i got them for. Thanks

    I thought I knew how to use a pair of fins - until I got a pair of these. I read all of the reviews posted here and decided on buying them. From the first day I used them I felt as though they didn't give me much propulsion - especially against a current. To confirm what I suspected, I resorted back to the inexpensive Mares Avanti HP Full Foot Fins that my favorite dive shop rents to its customers. I was then able zoom through the water in those fins which were 1/3 the price. I think it has to the with the flexibility of the fins. The Sherwoods are noticably more rigid than the Mares Avantis. They just didn't work for me.

        I am 6'3" and 250+ pounds. I was debating on these, the Scubapro Seawing Nova , and split fins. Boy am I glad I choose these. They fit phenomenally with boots, they have good straps, they look fantastic and perform even better. The propulsion, the agility and the design make for an excellent all around fin for normal size and us heavier guys as well. I prefer these over teh splits by a mile, and just a bit better then the seawings.

            I had Volos before and use these fins as a replacement .
            We went spearfishing with my buddy (he still has Volos) and I had no problem to stay beside him. Good fins for good price.
